At this stage, our society is in a transitional period. With the rapid economic development, the young generation in the city is forced by social competition and the pressure of survival, and often devotes more of their energy and time to work and development,so they have to put their children in the care of their ancestors. The grandparents who have retired from various jobs have assumed the responsibility of intergenerational care and devote their time, energy and financial resources. When intergenerational care has become an increasingly common and common phenomenon, they have assumed the responsibility of intergenerational care. The ancestral group continues to grow, but what does not match the universality is the attention of all sectors of society to this group. The social support system of the elderly who have taken on the task of intergenerational care has contracted, and their social support has become more prominent which is out of difficulties and needs.Based on this background, this article uses social support theory as the analysis and guidance framework to interview 51 elderly people in and around the X community in Z City who participate in inter-generational care, from group support, environmental support and policy support. To dimensionally excavated the status quo and needs of their social support, and find that the current level of social support cannot meet their current needs,we recruited 10 elderly people who participated in intergenerational care for different lengths of time and took care of their grandchildren to increase their needs.Group work was carried out for the purpose of social support. Before and after the group, the degree of achievement of group goals was measured by the evaluation criteria of the density of friends, neighbor relations, family communication and participation in group activities. It was found that group intervention activities enriched the intergenerational care to a certain extent. The social support system of the ancestors has played a certain role in improving their awareness and ability to obtain resources from social support.Based on the above analysis and conclusions, this research believes that under the guidance of social support theory,it is feasible to use group activities to build a field of expanded social support and find opportunities for the development of new social support for ancestors in intergenerational care. However, its role is concentrated in group support and partial environmental support which are belonging to informal social support. The improvement of formal social support for taking care of the middle ancestors across generations requires more attention and input from the government and social forces. The grandparents in intergenerational care are a group that deserves more attention now and in the future.Through perfect social support, the negative impact of intergenerational care on grandparents can be reduced, and the positive impact will be expanded, which is conducive to the good physical and mental health of the elderly. The state to enjoy the "family happiness" is also conducive to family harmony and social harmony, thus building an elderly-friendly society where "the old could live happily and peacefully".
