Compared with the younger generation of caregivers in both aging families, the aging of elderly caregivers is accompanied by real difficulties such as retirement, reduced wages, and decline in their own health. The accompanying caregiving pressure may be greater.Social support is becoming more and more important for caregivers of adults with intellectual disabilities. This study mainly uses a combination of participatory observations,in-depth interviews, and questionnaire surveys. The dual-elder family in Chengdu is used as the observation object. The in-depth observation of the families of people with intellectual disabilities reveals the following problems and predicaments: The most worrying issue for families at present is the future care of the mentally handicapped. The main concerns are that there is no one to take care of them;the second is that the quality of care cannot be guaranteed;the third is that they cannot afford it;the fourth is that they are unfamiliar with the policy; The biggest source of family pressure at present is mainly time pressure, health pressure and economic pressure;in terms of objective support,dual-elder families receive less national policy subsidies, and when encountering difficulties, they receive less help from neighbors and relatives; In terms of subjective support, under the combined effect of social stereotypes and the psychological pressure of the caregiver, the dual-elder family receives less support from relatives and friends in the care, care, and appeasement;in terms of the utilization of social support, partial care People know that there is corresponding social support, but limited by their own development conditions, there is no suitable way to use this part of social support;some have some understanding of the corresponding social support, but because of subjective and objective reasons, they are unwilling to actively absorb and Accept this part of social support. The results of the questionnaire survey show that the total score of the caregiver’s burden of care has far exceeded the "warning line",and it has already reached the point where it is necessary to provide respite services or even "exhausted";and at the level of social support, the caregiver’s The average total score is less than 20 points, and social support is very scarce. When most families encounter emergency situations, they receive very few sources of financial support, and the necessary comfort and care are also very lacking.Analysis of statistical data shows that "health status" and "time-dependent burden","physical burden","social burden" and the overall "care burden total score" have a significant negative correlation;"shared by others" and "development" ―Limited burden‖,―physical burden‖,―social burden‖,―emotional burden‖ and the overall ―care burden total score‖ are all significantly correlated.Someone share the burden and the longer the daily share, the longer the caregiver’s care The lower the score for stress;at the same time, the negative correlation between the total score of social support and the total score of care burden is significant, that is,the higher the caregivers in the dual-elder family have and the social support they have, the greater the care pressure they will produce.Secondly, the multi-dimensionality of social support also shows a negative correlation with the total score of the care burden.Among them, the ―utilization of support‖ item has a significant negative relationship with the total score of the care burden, indicating the The higher the caregiver’s utilization of the social support they possess, the smaller the perceived burden of care.In response to the above findings, this study proposes that in promoting the use of social support by caregivers of twin-elder families, the government, communities, and institutions need to make efforts to enhance the use of social support;play a good role in the process of social work implementation Identity, play a role, and strengthen the social support of the dual-elder family. |
