Math homework plays an important role in practicing and consolidating mathematical knowledge,reflecting learning effect,and training students' learning initiative and creativity.With the increasing voice of "reducing burden" and "increasing efficiency",the education department has issued a series of policies to reduce workload of homework,but there is still a widespread phenomenon that the more the burden is reduced,the heavier the burden is.Among them,the high-grade students in the primary school who are facing the pressure of junior high school entrance examination have a certain degree of academic burden.Some students also have physical and mental health problems because of homework.Parents and teachers are also facing more and more pressure and burden.Therefore,it is still a subject worthy of further study to understand the status quo of math homework in higher grades of grimary school and put forward optimization strategies to reduce students' homework burden.Firstly,Using questionnaire and interview methods,the author surveyed 276high-grade students in Chengdu C Primary School and interviewed 5 senior math teachers and 4 parents in higher grades of this primary school.From the six dimensions of attitude and awareness,number,difficulty,type,correction and evaluation methods,and home-school cooperation,the survey reveals the status quo of math homework in higher grades of primary school,which are: students prefer math and often finish their homework seriously;students think that the purpose of math homework is to practice and consolidate mathematical knowledge;the number of math homework is moderate but the frequency is high;the difficulty of math homework is moderate but the lack of stratification;the type of math homework is mainly written homework;the math homework is basically the teacher's full batch and full modification;it is common for teachers to evaluate homework only by judging right and wrong;it is common for parents to check and sign their children's homework.Then,the author uses the literature research method,combined with the survey conclusions and literature theory to summarize the problems of math homework faced by high-grade primary school students and to analyze the reasons for these problems of math homework in higher grades of primary school from the five levels of society,schools,teachers,students and parents.Finally,with the help of case analysis method,the author puts forward the corresponding optimization strategies from the five aspects of society,school,teachers,students and parents,which mainly include:(1)social level: They should formulate feasible homework "burden reduction" policy and set up supervision mechanism;They should vigorously promote quality education and rectify extracurricular training institutions.(2)School level: They should establish a sound homework management system;They should establish diversified evaluation mechanism for students and teachers;They should to provide a platform for teachers to improve the level of education and teaching.(3)Teacher level: the concept of homework should be renewed and the function of homework should be comprehensively positioned;The communication among teachers should be strengthened,and the number and difficulty of homework should be arranged in different levels;They should diversify the types of homework and enrich the sources of homework;It is not allowed to ask parents to check and correct homework;They should pay attention to the diversity of marking and evaluation of math homework.(4)Student level: They should develop good study habits;They should actively participate in the self-evaluation and reflection of math homework.(5)Parent level: They should reduce the improper participation in math homework;They should reduce the number of tutorial classes on weekdays.It is hoped that this study can be used for reference in reducing the burden of students,teachers and parents,improving primary school students' math core literacy,and achieving the optimal purpose of math homework.
