With the improvement of China's economic strength,Chinese language learning has gradually become a trend in Southeast Asian countries.The "One Belt One Road" initiative proposed by China has a profound impact on countries along Southeast Asia.Due to its historical factors,Thailand has a Thai-Chinese descent who accounts for nearly 15% of the total population.Mae Sai County,of Chiang Rai was due to the war in the middle of the last century,many Chinese put down roots and built a life and gradually formed a large Chinese community.Mae Salong Town is even more famous as a "Chinese Village".Therefore,it is of positive significance to choose to investigate the identification of Thai-Chinese students with Chinese culture,which is conducive to improving China's soft power and creating a better international environment.This research takes the local Chinese School as an example in Mae Sai,Chiang Rai,Northern Thailand,to analyze the self-identity of 150 youths of Thai-Chinese in Chinese culture,from the three dimensions of language identification,festival food culture identification and behavior identification.In the process of research,using field methods to go deep into these schools as Chinese teaching assistants is more conducive to discovering students' living habits and collecting first-hand data,combining relevant cultural identity theories to determine the content of the questionnaire.Through field research and questionnaire collection,the research found that most of the Thai-Chinese students can speak basic Mandarin Chinese,and their families still retain Chinese traditional cultural customs,because in the questionnaire survey,many students have a deep understanding of Chinese traditional culture and customs.From the results of the research,it is concluded that Thai-Chinese adolescent students have a good sense of self-identity in three dimensions,but they present a differentiated contrast in the characteristics of generation,Chinese proficiency,and length of learning Chinese.Result have shown that the second and third generations of Thai-Chinese students have a stronger sense of identity.The learn Chinese time and Chinese proficiency stronger effect was found for their sense of identity of culture.Finally,this research puts forward suggestions from the perspectives of increasing students' interest in participating in cultural activities and local Chinese schools actively promoting modern Chinese content.The aim is to improve Chinese students' awareness of China's current development while also enhancing their cultural self-confidence.Hope to contribute to the spread of overseas Chinese culture.
