China promotes the reform of basic education with the goal of cultivating students' core qualities.The "Core Literacy of Chinese Students' Development" clearly identifies the characters and key competencies that students should possess.These characters are necessary for lifelong development and social development.As a natural science,biology can well reflect the thinking and methods of natural science.In biology classroom teaching,the scientific way of thinking could and should be permeated to cultivate students' rational thinking.The study establishes a connection between demonstrative teaching and the cultivation of junior high school students' rational thinking.The research is expected to develop the rational thinking of junior high school students through demonstrative teaching.The paper adopts the questionnaire survey method to investigate the current situation about rational thinking.On this basis,it puts forward the principles and effective strategies to cultivate students' rational thinking,formulates demonstrative teaching design,carries out case teaching,and implements process testing.Firstly,in the practice school,the questionnaire of adolescent rational-experience thinking mode was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the thinking mode of junior high school students.The results show that the rational thinking tendency of junior high school students is more dominant than the experiential thinking tendency,and the cultivation of rational thinking of junior high school students is feasible.Secondly,although junior high school students have the advantage of rational thinking tendency,their rational thinking ability is insufficient.Referring to the the definition of rational thinking and the three elements of argumentation,the author screened out test papers about rational thinking ability.According to the survey,students lack the ability of rational thinking.Mainly for the following three reasons:the first is the lack of clear thinking direction;the second is the lack of evidence awareness or failure to correctly understand biological concepts and principles and apply them to new problem situations;the third is the lack of the ability to systematically analyze the problem materials and make logical reasoning.Finally,the author formulated the implementation principle and effective implementation strategy of argumentative teaching to cultivate students' rational thinking.The author has been studied the teaching materials,selected the topics suitable for argumentative teaching.The argumentative teaching design was developed and the case teaching was implemented.The effectiveness of argumentative teaching in cultivating students' rational thinking in junior high school biology teaching was tested by using process evaluation.
