The Negative Influence Of Western Consumerism On Contemporary College Students And The Countermeasures

As a kind of consumption concept and value,consumerism originated in the western capitalist countries with the rapid development of productivity at the end of 19 th century and the beginning of 20 th century,and spread with the trend of economic globalization.Consumerism is a kind of alienation of consumption,which gives consumption a supreme position.Under its influence,some people use consumption to show their identity and status and pursue excessive material consumption and enjoyment.For more than forty years of reform and opening-up in China,the rapid development of the socialist market economy,after the accession to the world trade organization(wto),is to be an integral part of the world economic system,our country with the rest of the world economic cooperation and cultural exchanges are becoming more frequent,more and more closely,at the same time,China's public life and the consumption level has been significantly increased,consumerism has begun to spread to China,and to the masses greatly influenced the consumption idea and value idea.Shoulder the task of the construction of the motherland in the future of the contemporary college students is a special social group,and they are many,being active,accept ability strong but distinguish ability are relatively weak,the influence of social thoughts are more vulnerable to all kinds of foreign,especially consumerism trend influence on their consumption idea,consumer behavior is more and more deep,in some of the students as well as the symbol consumption,blind consumption of consumer behavior,the serious influence college students' physical and mental healthy growth and correct consumption view,the formation of values,although some people think that consumerism has to promote the role of consumption,But on the negative impact of university students is the main and most obvious,therefore,to study western consumerism trend of contemporary college students' consumption idea,consumption behavior brings negative effects,and find many,many different solutions,to weaken or even avoid consumerism infection of contemporary college students is of great significance.In this paper,based on the related theoretical background of consumerism,emphatically analyses the thoughts of consumerism on the present college students of the negative impact of consumption idea,consumer behavior,and finally through the guidance of public opinion,college education,family and college students themselves four level list of effective measures to cope with the situation,to guide and help students cultivate scientific and rational consumption concept.The introduction first elaborates the research background and significance of this paper,domestic and foreign research review,research ideas and methods,possible innovations and shortcomings.Through a detailed summary and summary of the connotation and characteristics of consumerism,it makes sufficient preparation for the writing of the follow-up paper.The thesis is mainly divided into three parts without introduction:The first part discusses the related theories of consumerism,defines the basic concepts of consumption,consumerism and social ideological trend,and focuses on the historical background of the emergence of consumerism ideological trend from the growth of productive forces,political and social background and the promoting role of mass media.The second part is the emphasis of this paper,combining the questionnaire this paper expounds the thoughts of consumerism on current college students consumption idea and the negative consequences of behaviour,point out some college students in the daily consumption of symbol consumption,as well as the blind impulse buying behavior characteristics,analyzes the behavior of their damage as well as the reasons.The third part,under the influence of consumerism ideological trend,is the difficult point of this paper.This paper explores the reasonable path to guide students to cultivate the correct consumption concept under the influence of consumerism thoughts from the aspects of creating positive consumption public opinion guidance,strengthening the ideological and political education in colleges and universities from multiple angles,the concept and practice of good family consumption,and improving the scientific and rational consumption ability of college students.
