Curriculum reform is constantly advancing,and the reform of basic education is also deepening.The demand of society for talents is no longer unilateral technical talents,but all-round development people.Nowadays,subject-based teaching can no longer meet the needs of the society.STEM education,which originated in the United States,has been widely studied by educators in recent years because of its interdisciplinary and integrated characteristics.It is the English acronym for science,technology,engineering and mathematics,and STEAM education incorporates Arts elements on this basis,which makes the teaching mode and teaching method based on this concept more integrated,systematic and situational,which is more conducive to arousing students' curiosity Each element in STEAM education is not a simple combination of science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics,but a situational teaching based on real teaching situation with the main purpose of solving problems and projects.Therefore,this educational idea is infiltrated into the chemistry teaching design of senior high school,which can "create" an interesting,situational and artistic classroom for students,skillfully combine other subject contents,methods and skills,stimulate more students' interest in learning chemistry,further develop and train students' comprehensive thinking and ability,improve their comprehensive quality and promote their all-round development.In theory,through consulting a large number of documents,this paper analyzes the origin of STEM and STEAM education concepts and the research status at home and abroad by using literature analysis method,defines the concepts of various elements in STEAM education,and lays a theoretical foundation for integrating STEAM education concepts into high school chemistry teaching design by combining five theories including constructivism theory,multiple intelligences theory and situational cognition theory.Through the investigation and analysis,it is found that students' learning initiative and enthusiasm are stronger,and their ability to explore and solve problems is also improved,which shows that it is necessary to infiltrate this theory into senior high school chemistry teaching design.In practice,three subjects,"Chlorine and its Compounds","Removal of Impurity Ions in Crude Salt by Chemical Precipitation" and "Acetic Acid",are selected for teaching design and implementation.By analyzing and combing the teaching design ideas,a teaching mode of "analyzing teaching materials before class-infiltrating ideas in class-forming new knowledge after class" is formed.After implementation,it is concluded that STEAM educational ideas permeate high schools by means of after-school interviews and exercises tests.
