The Chinese Education Modernization 2035 issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and the promulgation of the Chinese Students' Development Core Literacy have repeatedly referred to the school should focus on cultivating the students' innovation ability,problem-solving ability,critical questioning ability,education workers should think about how to improve the high-order thinking ability of students,cultivating new era background meet the demand of the national development of talents.Project learning is a comprehensive learning method that combines group cooperative learning with independent inquiry learning,and it is a good teaching mode that can create a high order learning environment..Through literature review,this study determined the specific elements of the higher-order thinking ability explored in this paper as problem-solving ability,critical thinking ability,decision-making thinking ability and creative thinking ability.This research has carried out the practice on the junior middle school students of Qingdao internship school.Questionnaire survey was conducted on biology teachers and students to understand the current status of biology teachers' cultivation of students' higher-order thinking ability and the development status of junior high school students' higher-order thinking ability.According to the analysis,the overall level of higher order thinking ability of students is not high,and teachers generally realize the importance of higher order thinking ability to promote the overall development of students,but lack of effective teaching methods.This study summarizes the teaching strategies for the cultivation of higher-order thinking ability under the project learning mode: pay attention to the choice of project theme,design reasonable project content;Create a cooperative and mutual assistance environment to guide students to complete tasks;The use of multiple ratings,the correct guidance of higher-order thinking.In order to test the effect of project learning on the cultivation of students' higher-order thinking ability,a project teaching example is designed and implemented in combination with textbooks and curriculum standards.In this study,through the analysis of the test class and control class students' academic performance and advanced thinking ability before and after the test data,the statistical results show that the test class and control class two items of statistical scores are similar,there is no significant difference;There is a significant difference between the two classes in the post-test.The mean value of the test class is 77.16,and that of the control class is 77.14.There were significant differences in the scores of the advanced thinking ability test between the two classes in the post-test,with the mean value of 70.5 for the test class and 63.8 for the control class.To sum up,implementing project learning in junior middle school biology requires many strategies.Project learning has a significant effect on improving students' academic performance and the development of students' higher-order thinking ability.In particular,students' critical thinking ability and creative thinking ability can be significantly improved.
