The unified compilation of Chinese textbooks emphasizes "reading as a must",which greatly increases the requirements of reading,especially reading the whole book.However,there are still a lot of problems in the teaching of the whole book reading,and the incoherence of the teaching content is a prominent problem facing the teaching of the whole book reading in primary schools.Taking Journey to the West as a typical case,this study analyzes the current situation of the teaching content of reading the whole book in primary school and junior middle school,and finds that the teaching content of reading the whole book in the early primary school is not connected specifically: simple repetition of teaching content,teaching content inverted,teaching content imbalance and other phenomena.Based on the Chinese Curriculum Standards and the relevant contents of the unified Chinese textbooks for compulsory education,this paper concludes that the main reasons for the inconsistency of the reading teaching contents of the whole book in primary school are as follows: The lack of curriculum standards affects the overall planning of the whole book reading course and teaching,the difference in the design of the whole book reading material content affects the cohesion of teaching content,the difficulty in the certainty of the whole book reading teaching content itself leads to cohesion difficulties,and the deviation of teachers’ selection and determination of teaching content leads to the incoherence of teaching content.Based on this,this study puts forward suggestions on the connection of teaching content from the curriculum,teaching materials and teaching level.Finally,take journey to the West as an example to give an example of the whole book reading teaching content design from primary school to junior high school.The thesis consists of six chapters: Chapter one is the introduction.The second chapter demonstrates the necessity of this study from three aspects: the consistency principle of curriculum provision in primary and secondary schools,the differences of students’ psychological characteristics in compulsory education stage,and the connection problems brought about by the realistic situation.The third chapter uses text analysis method to analyze the cohesion of the reading contents of the whole book in The Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)and the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(Draft for Comments),as well as the cohesion of the reading contents of the whole book in the unified Chinese textbooks for compulsory education.Fourth Zhang Cai in "journey to the west",for example with the method of case analysis to small at the beginning of the whole book reading teaching contents of the current situation is analyzed,summed up the current small at the beginning of the whole book reading teaching in the teaching content,the problems of cohesion and combined with the content of the curriculum standard and teaching material content analysis,put forward early cause little cohesion of the contents of the entire book reading teaching.The fifth chapter puts forward specific suggestions from the teaching level.Chapter six presents an example of teaching content design of the whole book from primary school to junior middle school,taking journey to the West as an example.
