The "Ordinary High School Biology Curriculum Standards"revised in 2020 clearly states that,it's important for students to understand the scientific methods of constructing biological models and to learn how to apply these methods in scientific research which is to cultivate their biological scientific literacy.So,as a basic natural subject,biology puts forward higher requirements for cultivating students' scientific thinking ability of model and modeling.It is also of great meaning for students to master the general steps of model construction and related strategies for the future biological learning or to solve some practical problems in real life.Participation in modeling class is a series of expression of students in the class,such as theirs continuous behavior,the cognition and the emotional participation in the class,which would had some significant impacts on their understanding and mastery of the construction model.Thus,improving students' participation in modeling classroom could improve their modeling ability,which is also a guarantee for teachers to improve their model construction teaching.Improving the participation of students in modeling classroom can promote the improvement of students' modeling ability,and it is also a necessary guarantee to improve the effectiveness of teacher model construction teaching.On the basis of reading literature,previous studies were summarized and analyzed,concepts on model,model construction and student participation were interpreted.Through questionnaires and other methods,the current situation of students' participation in biology modeling classroom and the level of modeling ability of students in the high school were explored,and the results showed that,of students,the participation in behavior,cognition and emotion in biology modeling classroom were all not high,and the level of modeling ability was low.At the same time,students had not enough cognition on the modeling consciousness and the connotation of group cooperation in high school biology class,the difference of understanding and acceptance of modeling teaching is existed among them.Of teachers,most of them affirm the help of the model construction teaching for students' learning biology,and the recognition increased with the increase of their teaching age.However,it also found that some teachers had not realize of the value of classroom modeling,they could not clearly understand the essence of modeling,and did insufficient research on model construction teaching enough.Meanwhile,they put insufficient attention to the evaluation of modeling process and the dominant position of students in the classroom.The teaching research was carried out by using the case of biological model construction,which is integrated with the participation of students.Through two months of teaching practice,the level of participating in classroom of student was increased,and theirs modeling ability were also significantly improved.Therefore,through investigation and case teaching practice,we believes that,the well-designed teaching strategies on model construction can improve the classroom participation of students,and will improve their modeling ability,but it is requires the joint efforts of teachers and students,that is,teachers need to improve their scientific literacy,enhance their modeling teaching skills,and apply teaching aids scientifically and reasonably,students need to correctly understand the importance of improving modeling ability and to grasp their classroom subjectivity.
