Social Work Intervention Research On The Use Of Smart Phones By The Elderly In The Process Of Social Informatization

The rapid development of information technologies,such as the Internet,big data,and artificial intelligence,has improved social governance and service efficiency.On the one hand,it also brought profound changes to people's lifestyle.Intelligent equipment has become an important carrier for the development of social informatization.For the elderly,the use of smartphones often creates some embarrassment in various consumption processes,such as traveling,medical treatment,shopping,etc.How to help the elderly to adapt to the intelligent society and enjoy the convenience of intelligent services has become a problem that concerned by the society.In recent years,our country has also issued some corresponding policies,requiring to solve the prominent problems encountered by the elderly in using smartphones,which is aiming at narrowing the “distance” between the elderly and the intelligent society,helping the elderly to share the benefits of informatization development.As a result,the elder can have more sense of achievement,happiness and security in the development of social informatization.Based on the perspective of social work,this paper uses the theory of social support and the theory of continued socialization,adopting the method of questionnaire survey,interview and practical research to investigate and study the current situation of smart phone uses among the elderly in XX District of Chongqing.It is learned that the elder in this community have low adaptation to smart devices,and they have the following problems in using smart phones: first,the utilization rate of mobile phone functions is relatively low while the ownership rate of smart phone is relatively high;second,although some certain functions of mobile phones have been gained by the elderly,the proficiency in using them is still not ideal;third,some elderly people are not very willing to use the smart phones.This survey also found that the low level of smartphone use among the elderly is mainly caused by economic level,educational level,health level and external environmental factors.This survey also concluded that the elderly have six needs for smart phones: the need to learn the basic operating functions of smart phones;the social needs of learning to use multiple functions of mobile phones;the consumption needs of learning online shopping and mobile payment functions;the emotional needs of communication with their children;the need to improve the ability to use information;and the need for educational activities carried out by the community,etc.Therefore,based on the theory of social support and the theory of continued socialization,the plan of improving the ability of the elderly to use smartphones has been designed.Then the group work service of “Smart Life E-era” was carried out.This service effectively improved the level of the elder's use of smartphones,affecting the thinking mode of the elderly in using smartphones,and based on the perspective of practical research,putting forward service strategies to improve effectively the ability of using smartphones by the elderly: first,the government should play the important role in propaganda and guidance;second,the family should play the role of supporting;third,social organizations should play a synergistic role;fourth,the elderly themselves play an adaptive role in changing their learning attitudes and thinking patterns,and enhance their awareness of prevention.
