Since the 21 st century,Chinese teaching in Thailand has been developing vigorously,so that the types of Chinese courses have become more abundant.Chinese culture,as "the thing behind the Chinese language",runs through the whole process of Chinese learning and embodies the values,ways of thinking and aesthetic taste with Chinese characteristics.After teaching in Thailand for one year,the author found that Chinese culture class was embedded into Chinese teaching as a new type of curriculum,which stimulated students' interest in learning Chinese and their desire to explore Chinese culture.However,due to the complex cultural content,the restriction of teaching courses,the restriction of language level and other factors,the effect of students learning Chinese culture is not satisfactory.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies on cultural teaching and thematic teaching,the author uses documentary method,observation method and investigation method to deeply analyze the current situation of Thai cultural teaching represented by Phangnaya and Krabi area.Based on the theory of constructivism and the theory of second language acquisition,this paper launches a thematic teaching design for the Chinese cultural course in Thai middle schools,providing new ideas for the development of cultural teaching in Thailand,in the hope of enhancing students' cultural learning effectiveness and improving their learning enthusiasm and initiative.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter briefly explains the reason of the topic,clarifies the purpose of the research,analyzes the research significance from the theoretical and practical perspectives,and determines the research ideas and methods of this research.The second chapter clarifies the concept of culture teaching and theme-based teaching,and summarizes the previous research results on culture teaching and theme-based teaching.The third chapter explores the current situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand and the basic situation of Thai cultural teaching represented by Phang Nga and Krabi districts from the perspectives of general situation,teaching objects and cultural teaching.The fourth chapter,based on the above research background,carries out the overall design of theme-based teaching for the cultural courses of Thai middle schools,puts forward the selection principles of cultural themes such as pertinence,practicability,interest and science,and takes "Experiencing Chinese" as an example for the division and selection of cultural themes.The teaching objectives,such as the impart of Chinese cultural knowledge,the improvement of Chinese communicative competence,the dissemination of Chinese wisdom,and the improvement of intercultural communication awareness,are set;The teaching principles of representativeness,interactivity,comprehensiveness and interestingness are put forward.The teaching activities are divided into five links: subject classification,setting up situation,group cooperation,achievement display,self-evaluation and mutual evaluation.The fifth chapter,on the basis of the overall design,takes the theme of "Spring Festival" as a cultural teaching example to carry out a specific teaching design.Combining with the author's actual teaching experience,the thesis puts forward some suggestions on the theme teaching of cultural courses.The sixth chapter briefly summarizes the research content and puts forward the expectation for the development of Chinese culture teaching in Thai middle schools.
