A Study On The Recruitment Strategies Of International Students In Australian Universities

With the globalization of knowledge and economy,talent is an important foundation of national development,“education becomes the first national defense.”This paper takes the construction of double-class universities as the starting point,and tries to explore how other first-class universities in the world attract high-quality students.This study first combs the historical evolution of international education in Australia,then selects three universities with high internationalization level as research cases,analyzes the four aspects of enrollment concept,standard and requirement,resources and service,structure and effect.At the same time,it reflects on the shortcomings and problems of internationalization of higher education in Australia,summarizes the reasons and gives the optimization strategy.This study consists of four parts:The first part combs the historical process of the internationalization of Australian higher education and understands the development and evolution of Australian higher education from a historical perspective.In general,Australia international education has gone through six stages:the initial stage of education,the stage of education assistance,the stage of educational trade,strategic phase of education,the stage of multi-level rational development of education and the stage of COVID-19.Education,as a subsystem of society,is always closely related to social economy,politics and culture.In the second part,Australian universities are selected as a case study to study the international enrollment strategies.The study selected Australia oldest prestigious schools and the relatively high level of international leadership schools,namely the University of Sydney,the University of Melbourne and the University of Monash.In the process of international education enrollment,Australian universities have formed a multi-faceted enrollment concept,comprehensive enrollment standards,comprehensive enrollment service level and advanced enrollment level.The third part examines the problems and crises in the development and progress of Australian international education enrollment.The commercialization of international education,the lower level of education,security and racial discrimination.The causes of the problems are comprehensive and complex,including economic,political,historical,geographical and demographic factors.Based on the problems and reasons,the paper puts forward the corresponding international enrollment optimization strategy,adheres to the elite enrollment concept,expands the scope of partners,and strengthens the international understanding education.The fourth part analyzes the enlightenment of Australian international enrollment to our country.Based on the current education problems and the construction of first-class universities in China,and with reference to the successful experience of internationalization of Australian universities,Chinese universities should expand their admission autonomy and service level;improve their comprehensive strength and build their own brand advantages;actively establish priority partnerships with neighboring countries or regions to expand the enrollment market;consider students' learning and employment needs and provide employment and training services for students;strengthen the construction of policies and regulations for students' educational rights and interests;establish Chinese admission threshold conditions,strengthen Chinese training;expand the source of scholarship funds and increase publicity.
