The research aims to investigate whether the "Kindergarten Teachers STEAM Education Training Project" is effective.With 38 kindergarten teachers in Yunnan Province as the object,the questionnaire survey method is used to quantitatively compare the level of knowledge and practice of the five characteristics of STEAM education before and after the teacher training.The STEAM activities organized by teachers are qualitatively analyzed to assess whether teachers' awareness of STEAM education has changed after the training,and whether the STEAM activities organized by teachers have improved with the advancement of training.The research first issued the "Reflection Questionnaire for Preschool Teachers' Participation in STEAM Training" to ask the participating teachers about their understanding,practice and questions about the characteristics of STEAM education,and to collect the specific performance of teachers in these aspects.On this basis,the "Kindergarten Teachers STEAM Teaching" was formulated.The "Practical Evaluation Tool" was used as an evaluation standard and used in the survey,confirming that training can effectively improve teachers' understanding of STEAM education and the quality of practical teaching.Then,through the qualitative analysis of the content of participating teachers' activity reports and activity case texts,it further presents the specific performance of teachers' implementation of STEAM activities,which is a practical level of improvement,and supplements the quantitative results.Based on the statistical results of the questionnaire and case analysis,the study found that:(1)Participatory training has transformed kindergarten teachers' understanding of STEAM education.Reflected in teachers(1)general understanding of the concept of STEAM education characteristics;(2)acceptance of STEAM education concepts and changes;(3)level of science PCK(pedagogical content knowledge),technology PCK,engineering PCK,and mathematical PCK has been improved,of which the improvement of engineering PCK is particularly obvious.(2)With the advancement of training,teachers' STEAM teaching practice has improved.This is reflected in the progress of teachers(1)from mechanically imitating and trying to carry out STEAM activities to discovering learning content suitable for children and containing STEAM value;(2)Having the initial ability to carry out STEAM activities,and roughly grasp the knowledge and skills for carrying out STEAM integrated teaching.Based on the findings of this research,it is recommended to adopt the participatory training model when organizing teacher training,and promote the participatory training in which the learner is the main body,the continuous company of experts,and the training method that integrates theory and practice to give full play to participatory training To achieve greater training benefits;teachers should actively exert professional autonomy in carrying out STEAM teaching practice,and carry out STEAM education activities in accordance with local conditions.
