Multi-age education in kindergarten refers to the pattern of preschool education in which children aged 3-6 study and live together in the same environment.Studies have shown that children's parents have a bias towards multi-age education,which has become one of the factors that hinder multi-age education.However,in the current practice of multi-age education,the parents of children have a deeper understanding of multi-age education and cognitive change.The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of multi-age education of children's parents after entering the kindergarten,so as to provide effective supportive strategies for children's parents and put forward effective suggestions for the improvement of multi-age education institutions.This study adopts quantitative and qualitative research methods to explore the multi-age education concepts of children's parents,and conducts a questionnaire survey on the multi-age education concepts of 311 children's parents in Q Kindergarten in Nanjing.The main investigation to understand the children's parents on the value of multi-age education,multi-age education in children's peers,multi-age education in the understanding of teachers,the confusion of multi-age education.In addition,9 parents of children were selected for interviews to have a deeper understanding of the concept of multi-age education among parents of children,and the questionnaire analysis is complementary and mutually verified.According to the quantitative data analysis and qualitative analysis,the characteristic of the concept of children's parents are as follows: First,after children entering the kindergarten.Second,there are differences in the understanding of children's parents on multi-age education.Third,parents pay more attention to the explicit of multi-age education while ignoring the implicit function.Fourth,children's parents still have a few confusion on multi-age education,but the focus has shifted.Fifth,the demand for multi-age education is high and extensive.The main factors that affect children's parents' concept of multi-age education include parents' own factors,the interpersonal ecological structure created by multi-age children and social environment factors.Based on the current situation of the concept of multi-age education of children's parents,the suggestions to support children's parents and help institutions to improve include: First,based on the difference of children's parents concept,pay attention to the pertinence of support.Second,it is urgent to strengthen parents' understanding of the hidden function of mixed-age education.Third,make up for the disconnection between parents and teachers and alleviate the contradiction between parents and teachers.Fourth,we should work together to meet the needs of children's parents and eliminate their confusion.
