Children are the son of nature,and the intimate relationship between children and nature is born.Play is a child's right and a basic activity for children,strengthening the relationship between children and nature through nature play has attracted more and more attention.However,interest is the best teacher.How is the interest in nature play for children who are regarded as "nature deficient" in modern times? This study focus on qualitative methods to observe and interview children's nature play in Class E of Suzhou S Kindergarten in order to reveal current situation of children's interest in nature play.Besides,interviews with teachers of the class and administrators of S Kindergarten and questionnaires with parents of children were conducted to more comprehensively analyze the influencing factors of children's interest in nature play.Finally,the study provides educational suggestions to further enhance children's interest in nature play.According to the results of coding,children's interest in nature play is mainly manifested in four dimensions: breadth,directivity,stability and emotion.In terms of the breadth of interest,the range of nature materials involved in the interest is mainly plant-like nature materials,and the selection of the range of nature materials is mainly to facilitate sensory interaction.In terms of the directivity of interest,the content pointed to by interest is mainly direct interest,the specific performance of the content is mainly based on playing with nature materials and collecting nature materials.In terms of the stability of interest,the duration of interest is mainly long-term,and there is the appearance of lasting interest.In terms of the emotion of interest,emotional performance is dominated by positive emotions,preferring outdoor nature play spaces.The specific performance of children's interest in nature play is different,reflecting the general level of children's interest in nature play,and the main problems are as follows.First,children have limited understanding of the scope of nature materials.Second,children's interest in the depth of the content is not enough.Third,children's time of outdoor nature play is not fully guaranteed.Fourth,the individual differences of children's interest in nature play are large.According to the current situation of children's interest in nature play,the factors that affect children's interest are analyzed.Among them,nature play space is the basic factor that affects children's interest in nature play,nature play time is the key factor that affects children's interest in nature play,nature play experience is the inevitable factor that affects children's interest in nature play,and adult role is the important factor that affects children's interest in nature play.Based on the analysis of the current situation and influencing factors,in order to further enhance children's interest in nature play,it is suggested to design appropriate space for nature play,ensure sufficient time for nature play,accumulate rich experience in nature play,and play an effective role of adults.
