The delayed service in kindergarten refers to the formal organized educational services provided by kindergarten for preschool children above 3 years old within the duration of the school year after the school time is up.As the social problem of "3:30problem" in primary schools becomes more and more prominent and is being solved,the problem of early school release in kindergartens has gradually become a topic of discussion in the society.In this study,parents' demand was taken as the starting point to study the delayed service of kindergartens.A total of 870 parents in 4 kindergartens run by education department and 3 kindergartens run by communities in Nanjing were investigated,and 852 valid questionnaires were collected.Besides,20 parents were interviewed in depth,and sufficient research data were obtained.Through the analysis of questionnaire data and interview data,the current situation of parents' demand for delayed service from two aspects of demand degree and demand content was revealed.(1)Parents have different degrees of demands for delayed service in kindergartens.Among them,parents who do not need delayed service at all only account for 3.87% of the total number of respondents.The overall demand of parents in kindergartens run by communities is higher than that in kindergartens run by education department.On the whole,there is no significant difference in the degree of parental demands among different types of families.(2)The specific demands of parents for the delayed service in kindergarten show diversified characteristics.Among them,what parents generally value is the security of the delayed service in kindergarten,whether the extra-curricular activities can promote the better development of children and whether the organizers of the delayed service are professional and responsible.Through the qualitative analysis of the interview data,it was concluded that there were three factors affecting the parental demands for the delayed service of kindergarten,including the parents' time off work conflicting with the kindergarten's departure time,the influence factor of different young children's upbringing characters and the influence factor of young children in different places.Based on the relevant theories,it was found that there are both reasonable and unreasonable demands of parents for delayed services in kindergartens.Therefore,based on the reasonable part of parents' demand for kindergarten delayed service,and on the basis of kindergarten management theory and supplydemand balance theory,this study constructs a trial implementation plan for delayed service in kindergarten and puts forward corresponding suggestions.From the government side:(1)To simultaneously introduce relevant policies on kindergarten delayed service to arouse social attention.(2)Strengthen supervision and strictly control the quality of delayed service in kindergartens.(3)Establish an unobstructed information transmission channel and improve the efficiency of the use of preschool educational resources.From the parents side:(1)Parents should share the reasonable expenses of the delayed service in kindergarten.(2)Parents should have a scientific understanding of the function of the delayed service.(3)Parents should constantly correct the concept of early childhood education,and take the initiative to undertake the parenting responsibilities.From the kindergarten side:(1)Gradually improve the delayed service based on the actual conditions of the kindergarten.(2)Clarifying the responsibility boundary of the kindergarten and guiding parents to correctly understand and choose the delayed service.(3)Make full use of social resources to jointly help the kindergarten to develop the delayed service to the direction of high quality.
