In order to adapt to the needs of The Times and social changes,it has become an important content of higher education to cultivate college students' ability of self-consciousness,help them form a sound personality and improve their mental health.As an important part of college education,physical education can not be replaced by other subjects in its influence on students' self-consciousness and mental health.This study selected college students participation high three big ball,ball,running programs,expected on the basis of predecessors' research,to explore college students higher participation rate of this a few kinds of physical exercise project and college students' self-awareness ability and the relationship between the mental health status,by physical exercise more effectively improve the level of self consciousness and mental health of college students to provide the reference.Research Methods: A total of 4,383 questionnaires were sent out in Anhui Normal University,Jiangsu Ocean University,Hohai University,Nanjing Normal University,Nanjing University of Science and Technology,Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and other universities.Among them,there were 973 invalid questionnaires(giving random answers and choosing other sports items)and 3410 valid questionnaires,with an effective rate of 78%.The "Physical Activity Rating Scale","Self-Awareness Scale" and "Concise College Students Psychological Quality Scale" were used to measure these students,and SPSS22.0 was used to conduct statistics and analysis on the data.The results are as follows :(1)There are gender differences in college students' self-awareness.The score of female students is generally higher than that of male students,and male students are more likely to have negative self-awareness tendency than female students.There are no gender differences in the cognitive quality,personality quality and overall mental health level of college students,and the influence of sports on the mental health of male and female students is not gender specific.(2)There are differences in self-awareness between college students who participate in three ball events,three ball events and running events and those who basically do not exercise.The three kinds of sports may improve the level of college students' self-awareness and its dimensions.Compared with the three small balls and running,the three big balls have the greatest effect on the improvement of the level of overall self-awareness and the level of personal awareness.The effect of the three big balls and running on the improvement of public consciousness and social anxiety was greater than that of the three big balls.(3)There are differences in mental health between college students who participate in three ball,three ball and running events and those who do not exercise at all.Three kinds of sports may improve the overall mental health of college students and their various dimensions.Compared with the three balls and running,the three balls had the greatest positive influence on the overall mental health level,personality quality and adaptability.The effect of the three balls and running on the cognitive quality dimension was greater than that of the three balls.(4)Self-awareness played a partial mediating role in the relationship between different sports and mental health.Through mediating effect analysis,it is found that the change of sports can directly affect the mental health level of college students,and it can also indirectly affect the mental health level through self-awareness.In addition,there were gender differences in the mediating effect of self-awareness on the overall mental health level of sports.
