Historical materials of newspapers and periodicals refer to the historical materials preserved in newspapers and periodicals in modern China.They have the advantages of extensive content,timeliness of reports,vividness of narration,openness of publication,etc.They have become the teaching resources that cannot be ignored in the teaching of modern history in senior high schools.This paper fully draws on the historical academic research results,through reading and combing the relevant literature,expounds the development process and characteristics of China's newspapers and periodicals,and clarifies the historical value and limitations of various newspapers and periodicals.On this basis,this paper analyzes the significance of the application of newspaper historical materials in the teaching of modern Chinese history,as well as the existing problems and causes.Taking the newspaper historical materials cited in the outline of Chinese and foreign history(I)as an example,this paper expounds the application strategies in the teaching.Through the research,we have a profound understanding of the following issues:First,the application of historical materials in newspapers and periodicals is not only conducive to adding historical details,making up for the gap and disjunction in the narrative of teaching materials,enriching classroom teaching,but also conducive to guiding students to pay attention to daily social life,providing students with multi-dimensional perspectives to observe and learn modern history,And then promote the cultivation of students' empirical literacy and historical inquiry ability.Second,there are some problems in the use of historical materials of newspapers and periodicals,such as improper quotation and insufficient attention.These problems are related to the limitation of teaching hours,the limitation of historical materials of newspapers and periodicals and the lack of teachers' ability.Third,under the current situation of history teaching in middle schools,teachers can collect and select historical materials from history textbooks,college entrance examination questions over the years and professional academic works.In terms of concrete application,teachers can use historical materials from different sources to create conflicting historical situations,resulting in students' cognitive conflicts,and then guide students to understand the class nature and position orientation of historical materials;We can also use different types of historical materials and newspaper historical materials to complement each other,guide students to understand the value of different historical materials,and enhance students' positive consciousness.In addition,we should also choose intuitive newspaper images to create a sense of the scene of history learning and stimulate students' interest and participation in history learning.Of course,the historical materials of newspapers and periodicals cannot be used at will in the classroom.They must be in line with the teaching objectives,content and learning situation,and they should be screened in advance to ensure the reliability of the historical materials.
