Mind mapping is a tool for thinking reproduction.It changes the traditional writing and table-based recording methods and integrates and reproduces knowledge by using images,colors,lines and arrows,which is of great significance for cultivating students' divergent thinking and autonomous learning ability.High school geography compulsory one content is numerous and the knowledge point is scattered,the number of heavy and difficult points is many and concentrated.Therefore,the author applies the mind mapping to the teaching of physical geography in high school to explore the influence of mind mapping on the teaching effect of physical geography in high school,so as to find an effective way for the teaching of physical geography.In this paper,the method of questionnaire,interview,comparative analysis and other methods to explore,with the author's teaching of Jiahe County No.1 high school two classes as an example to design and carry out teaching experiments.In the course of the experiment,we designed and implemented questionnaires such as Survey on the Status Quo of Senior High School Students' Geography Learning and Survey on the Results of Use of Mind Maps by Senior High School Students,collected the original data of mind maps drawn by students themselves,as well as the data of geography achievements before and after using the mind map teaching method,and drew the research conclusions of this paper:(1)Teachers and students generally accept the mind-mapping teaching method into the geography class.Through the analysis of preliminary questionnaire results and individual case interviews,it can be learned that some teachers and students have been exposed to mind mapping and are willing to systematically learn the methods of drawing geographical mind mapping.After a semester of mind mapping teaching,teachers and students expressed their willingness to continue to use mind mapping for teaching and learning in later learning.(2)The application of mind mapping in teaching plays an obvious role in the realization of teaching effects.According to the survey results,the use of mind mapping can improve students' learning interest and memory,and students can deepen their understanding of knowledge through their own hand-drawn mind mapping.Mind mapping teaching method also improves students' academic performance.Before the experiment,there is no significant difference between the geography performance of students in the control class and the experimental class.After a semester of mind mapping teaching,the geography performance of students in the experimental class is significantly higher than that of the control class.(3)The promotion of mind mapping in high school geography class will still be a long-term process.Through the research of this paper,it can be seen that the application scope of mind mapping in the classroom is limited at present,which is mainly concentrated in the developed areas.The teaching methods of high school geography in the vast underdeveloped areas are still in the stage of lecturing.Mind mapping into the geography classroom,teachers and students to skillfully use the teaching,learning means is still facing many challenges,need the joint efforts of all parties.
