The characteristics of high incidence and high harmfulness of campus bullying have aroused widespread concern of the state and society.In the role of bullying,the intervention of bystander protection behavior greatly reduces the occurrence of campus bullying.In this process,empathy and anti-bullying attitudes have a great impact on bystander protection behavior.In order to understand the influence of junior high school students' empathy ability on bystander protection behavior in campus bullying,the performance and causes of bystander protection behavior in campus bullying situation.In this study,experimental research combined with the group intervention method to initiate empathy,and the mediating role of anti-bullying attitude and the moderating role of gender to do further discussion.In study 1,to explore the influence of empathy on bystander protection behavior and the mediating role of anti-bullying attitude,148 junior high school students were randomly selected from two classes in grade two of junior high school.Bystander Questionnaire of Bullying,Anti-Bullying Attitude Questionnaire and Interpersonal Response Index Questionnaire were used to test before and after.The Results showed that:(1)Empathy positively predicted anti-bullying attitude and bystander protection behavior.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between anti-bullying attitude and bystander protection behavior,and the mediating role of anti-bullying attitude between empathy and bystander protection behavior is significant.This shows that the improvement of empathy ability will affect students' anti-bullying attitude,thus increasing the occurrence of bystander protection behavior.Study 2 explored the effect of group intervention on empathy,the mediating effect of anti-bullying attitude and the moderating effect of gender.104 junior high school students were selected as the research subjects with the design of group supplementary training program as the research paradigm.The same as the first study,the Bystander Questionnaire in Bullying,the Anti-Bullying Attitude Questionnaire and the Interpersonal Response Index Questionnaire were used for pre-and post-test.The results show that:(1)The design and implementation of the group psychological counseling training program is effective to improve the empathy ability of junior high school students.(2)Anti-bullying attitude plays a mediating role between empathy and bystander protection behavior,and gender plays a significant moderating role between empathy and anti-bullying attitude,and this model is a moderated mediator.Conclusion: Empathy can positively predict the occurrence of bystander protection in school bullying.The improvement of empathy can significantly improve the bystander protection behavior of students,and in this process,as a stable psychological tendency,anti-bullying attitude plays an intermediary role between empathy and bystander protection behavior,that is,the improvement of empathy ability will firm anti-bullying attitude and then increase bystander protective behavior.In addition,positive empathy group counseling can improve the empathy ability of junior high school students,junior high school students with more empathy ability and anti-bullying attitude show more bystander protection behavior,and the anti-bullying attitude of boys after empathy training is higher than that of girls.
