| Bullying in junior high school is a frequent period of school bullying,which has a great impact on the physical and mental health of junior high school students.As society and schools pay more attention to bullying on campus,the group of bystanders begins to enter the public eye,and the behavior of bystanders will affect the process of bullying.Therefore,the effective intervention to students is of great significance to reduce school bullying.Previous studies have shown that the family function of junior high school students will affect the bullying bystanders’ protection behavior,and the empathy ability can promote the bullying bystanders’ protection behavior to a certain extent.Therefore,this paper starts with the relationship among family function,empathy and bullying bystanders protection behavior of junior high school students,so as to explore the mechanism and factors affecting bystanders’ behavior,and provide corresponding empirical basis for schools to alleviate campus bullying.In this study,700 junior high school students of different grades in a middle school in Guangxi were randomly selected as the subjects of the study,and the Bullying Situation Self-assessment Participation Role Scale,the Chinese version of the Family Intimacy and Adaptability Scale and the Interpersonal Response Needle Scale were used as the testing tools to conduct statistical analysis,and the relationships among the three were obtained.The main results of the study are as follows:1.Junior high school students showed good affinity and adaptability in family function,and the affinity had more influence on junior high school students than the adaptability.There is no significant difference in grade and gender between junior high school students.2.There are significant gender differences in empathy among junior high school students,and the empathy level of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.Empathy in the view of the adoption of factors in different grades showed significant differences,the highest score in grade three,followed by the second,and finally the first.3.Junior high school students were more active in bullying and spectator protection,with the score of 1.71 higher than the average of 1.50.Bullying onlookers’ protective behaviors had significant gender differences,and girls scored higher than boys.There were significant differences in the total scores of protective behaviors among different grades,and the scores were ranked as Grade 1,Grade 3 and Grade 2 from high to low.4.Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant positive correlation between empathy and family function,empathy and bystander protection behavior,and bystander protection behavior and family function.5.Empathy acts as a partial mediator between family functioning and the protection of bystanders from bullying on campus.Conclusion: Empathy in junior high school students has significant gender differences,family function has a positive impact on the protection behavior of bystanders,empathy can play a mediating role in the two,improve the empathy ability of junior high school students,so as to reduce the incidence of school bullying. |
