Geography curriculum standards for general high schools(2017 edition)attaches great importance to cultivating students’ core literacy in real natural and social situations.The implementation of geography situation teaching can provide students with real knowledge learning situation and application situation,thus contributing to the cultivation of students’ geography core accomplishment.The selection quality of situational materials and the effect of processing and application are the key to the effective implementation of situational teaching.Therefore,it is necessary to systematically study the selection and application of situational materials.This paper focuses on the selection and application of geographical situation materials in middle schools.In this study,literature research,questionnaire survey,case analysis etc.research methods are used.Based on the above research methods,the connotation,classification,function,application status,selection principles and teaching application methods of geographical situation materials are systematically investigated.Finally,the method of situational material selection and teaching application is verified with a concrete teaching case.The specific research results are summarized as follows:In the theoretical component of situation material,the paper defines the connotation of geographical situation material.This paper divides geographical situation material into three categories: graphic situation material,audio-visual situation material and practical situation material.The paper puts forward five functions of geographical situation materials: stimulating students’ learning interest,cultivating students’ thinking ability,promoting the transfer of students’ knowledge and ability,permeating emotional education,and promoting teachers’ professional growth.Based on the relevant theories of the above situation materials,this paper carries out a survey on the application status of geographical situation materials in middle schools.The following conclusions are drawn: Teachers attach great importance to the creation of teaching situations by using situational materials;The teachers’ understanding of the function of situational materials is not comprehensive;Teachers choose the source of situational materials in a single way;Teachers’ situational materials are presented in traditional ways;What teachers need most is the guidance of selecting and processing situational materials.In view of the problems reflected in the above investigation,the paper puts forward four principles of selecting situational materials: scientific,targeted,living and exploratory.This paper summarizes five ways to collect geographical situations,including paying attention to geography in daily life,paying attention to hot news,using social media skillfully,conducting survey and discussion,reading literature and books,and some precautions to collect situational materials.Part in teaching situation of material application,this paper put forward on the basis of curriculum and teaching materials to determine the knowledge structure of knowledge structure and the choice of learning situation in accordance with the material according to the situation the correspondency of materials and the teaching contents design situation combined with learning organization student activity four steps of situational teaching material application model and situational teaching material application related matters needing attention.Based on the above content,the author designed the teaching design of the first lesson of "urbanization".This validates the method of selecting and applying geographical situation materials proposed by the author.This paper studied the theoretical composition of geographical situation materials,and based on this,compiled a questionnaire on the application status of situation materials.This paper uses the above questionnaire to find out the problem of teachers’ application of situational materials.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward the method of selecting situational materials and teaching application,so as to provide reference for teachers to effectively implement situational teaching and thus promote the cultivation of geographic core literacy.
