The 20th CPC National Congress pointed out that building a modern socialist country in an all-round way is inseparable from talents,education and science and technology.Education is the way to train qualified socialist builders.It is the duty of educators to improve the quality of education and help students learn.Education makes students become qualified national builders by cultivating their core qualities.Situational teaching is an important carrier for cultivating students’ qualities.The application of situational teaching theory contributes to developing students’ core qualities and the cultivation of a whole person.In view of the problems existing in the current front-line chemistry teaching,such as lack of teaching experience,cognitive bias and busy work,some teachers choose and use situational materials hastily,tend to choose negative situational materials and don’t know how to find appropriate situational materials.Therefore,it is meaningful to found a convenient materials library with high quality situational materials.Focusing on the selection of situational materials under the new curriculum standard,the functional orientation of situational materials are determined,which is "enrich classroom content","stimulate students’ interest in learning","help students understand,improve classroom teaching efficiency","create real situations,cultivate students’ core literacy" and "supplement textbook knowledge".Enriching the content of material,balancing the difficulty of material,simplifying the material information,counting and processing the information in the original material library,a secondary school chemistry situational material library is established that can be viewed and used by front-line chemistry teachers,with materials from influential and well-known Chinese traditional food culture documentary selected by the principles,that are authenticity,inspiration,cohesion and directness,and the strategies that are “screen the source of material”,“enrich the content of material”,“balance the difficulty of material” and “simplify the material information”.It has been proved by teaching practice that the use of situational material library is benefitial to facilitate teacher preparation and improving teachers’ physical health.The use of positive situational material is instrumental in increasing students’ impression about the chemistry and improving their interest in chemical learning.The use of materials in the secondary school chemical situational material library based on A Bite of China(Season 1)is conducive to promoting students’ learning,helping students master and apply knowledge.Before this study,there was little research on situational materials,an important part of situational teaching theory,and there was no research to explore the advantages of using traditional Chinese cultural documentaries such as A Bite of China as the source of situational materials.Taking traditional cultural documentaries as the original material library can obtain authentic situational materials with highquality videos,that are closely combined with ideological and political theories teaching in all courses.This study combed out the method of collating situational materials based on a certain original material library,and established the first secondary school chemistry situational material library with Chinese traditional food culture documentaries as the material content,providing guidance theory for teachers who have difficulties in finding situational materials and front-line teachers with highly processed situational materials.
