Education is the foundation of social development and progress. To realize people’ dream, orient education must towards modernization, globalization and future construction. In result from fierce competition of the new era, the new curriculum reform is of beginning. To carry out the new curriculum education idea, and make a good job in students’ ideological and political education, high school teacher has been to explore the methods and mode of political teaching,which can adapt to the national development and student development. However,a good political lesson in high school teaching, cannot leave from the exploration of choosing and using teaching material. To practice the socialist core values and improve the students’ ideological and cultural literacy, cultural life module teaching is particularly important. Therefore, this article will take the cultural life module as an example to make an exploration. This article is altogether into four parts:The first chapter is the introduction, in which first introduces the selected topic background--a need to adapt to the political lesson of new standard in high school, a need to make political teacher abandon the inappropriate teaching behavior and a need to train students’ incorrect learning strategies of political teaching. These three provide the basis for this topic research, and then make an literate analysis of teaching materials research at home and abroad, principle and strategies at teaching material selection, teaching material application error and the correct strategies, finally is on research significance, research methods and the main content and key statement.The second chapter is mainly about the core concept definition introduction of teaching material and the nature, objective, contents, characteristics of cultural life book.The third chapter analyzes the existing problems and its reasons for teaching material selection and use in high school political teaching, which is the key point of this study. This chapter summarizes three problems: one is so many teaching materials provided in the class, second problem is that teaching materials apart from student, the third is teaching materials are too interesting to lose flavor. The corresponding analysis of the three major causes are as following: first, teaching is a formality; second, teaching material is unattractive; third, the teaching material is not real and its effect is not obvious.The fourth chapter is the difficulty in this paper. In view of teaching material selection and application of proposed, this chapter puts forward five principles:educational, practical, funny, open and innovative, and three specific strategies:strengthening consciousness, teaching material is presented in many different kind; studying the book, teaching material is made meaning; paying attention to student, make a pursuit of dynamic teaching process, and then presents a complete case on teaching material selection and application.
