"New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Development Plan" clearly pointed out:at present,the primary and secondary schools in China should set up related courses such as AI and internet,but at present,the universities in China are only involved in artificial intelligence and there are almost no related courses in primary and secondary schools,most of them are combined with science courses,maker courses,STEAM courses and information technology courses,there is no relatively independent artificial intelligence course.Secondly,there is a disconnect between the artificial intelligence courses in middle schools and primary schools.The primary schools are mainly Scratch graphical programming,while the middle schools use Python language for code programming.The transition from the primary school to the middle school needs to switch the practice environment and tools,which brings a certain threshold for incremental learning,and the cost of getting familiar with the new environment and tools is also very high.Therefore,it is worth exploring how to develop artificial intelligence courses suitable for primary school students,and at the same time,how to achieve smooth progress with middle school artificial intelligence courses.In this paper,the commonly used open source hardware for teaching in China is analyzed.At present,the most commonly used open source hardware in primary and secondary schools is Arduino,Microduino and Micro:bit,while Raspberry Pi is commonly used in middle schools and junior colleges.Although its function is very powerful,it has not been used in primary school teaching because of its high threshold.The author knew the Hangzhou GDW Robot Company in 2018.The company has developed the modular programming based on Python language.And it selected Raspberry Pi as the hardware,which uses Python as the main development language.At the same time,the artificial intelligence module developed by the platform is also perfect and it can also lay a good foundation for middle schools to learn Python programming language.In view of the above situation,this study focuses on the development and practical research of primary school artificial intelligence curriculum based on Raspberry Pi.The research content is mainly composed of five parts: the first chapter sorts out some related research contents about artificial intelligence courses and Raspberry Pi courses at home and abroad after consulting a large number of literatures,and determines the research theme of this topic;The second chapter defines the related concepts such as curriculum,Raspberry Pi,artificial intelligence and GDW online programming platform,expounds the theoretical basis of this research,including constructivist learning theory,"learning by doing" theory and project-based learning;The third chapter is to formulate the process of curriculum development,determine the concept of curriculum design.Through the investigation and analysis of the primary school students’ demand for artificial intelligence courses,curriculum objectives of this type of courses are formulated,the appropriate curriculum contents are selected;The fourth chapter briefly expounds the specific implementation of the course,including preparation work,teaching arrangement,implementation process,classroom teaching cases,course evaluation,teaching reflection and interview research with teaching students;The fifth chapter is the summary and prospect of this study.It is found that the primary school artificial intelligence course based on Raspberry Pi is implementable,which can help students understand the simple principles of artificial intelligence and improve their computational thinking in making artificial intelligence works.The innovation of this research lies in separating the artificial intelligence curriculum in primary schools and developing the corresponding practical curriculum in combination with the artificial intelligence part of the 2020 edition of the textbook "Information Technology in Primary Schools".At the same time,it is the first time to use Raspberry Pi as a programming tool in primary school.Although it is only modular programming in primary school,it can lay a foundation for smooth transition to Python language learning in middle school.It is hoped that this research can provide some inspiration and reference for the development of artificial intelligence curriculum in primary and secondary schools.
