The class teacher is the main force of the school’s moral education work and the guide of the path of student growth,has a very important position in school development and student training.In the work of middle school,due to the differences in their own qualities and abilities,ordinary class teachers and excellent class teachers are quite different in terms of working status,work effectiveness,and popularity among students.So,what are the characteristics of an excellent class teacher? How can be an excellent class teacher who is loved by students? The in-depth discussion of this issue is an important basis for selecting,training and cultivating excellent class teachers.However,the research on the characteristics of excellent teachers in junior middle schools has not yet reached a consensus,and most of them are based on the perspective of the teachers,ignoring the needs of students,which is not comprehensive,which leads to the lack of scientific basis for the construction of excellent teachers in junior middle schools.Based on the above background,this research focuses on the characteristics of excellent teachers in junior middle schools,using empirical research methods,first explores the common characteristics of excellent teachers in junior middle schools,and then learns from the student’s perspective which characteristics are recognized and demanded by students,so as to improve the training of teachers in junior middle schools.Provide reference suggestions for professional development.The author first selects 20 excellent class teachers from 5 junior high schools in City H who have won honors at the county and city level as the research objects.The research perspective is the job characteristics,and the subject is “What are the characteristics of excellent junior high school teachers” as the subject to conduct in-depth interviews with the interviewees.And use grounded theory to analyze and process research materials,refer to the iceberg model of job quality,and construct a model of outstanding junior high school teacher in charge.Secondly,we randomly sampled students from 6 junior middle schools in City H,conducted a questionnaire survey,and learned which of the outstanding class teacher traits recognized by the students in the previous survey should be possessed,and with the help of the Kano model research tool,the specific analysis of each trait element the degree of influence of becoming a class teacher loved by the students.The research results show that the group of excellent teachers in junior middle schools have common characteristics,including five dimensions: knowledge characteristics,ability characteristics,attitudes and values,personality characteristics,and motivation characteristics,with a total of 30 characteristic elements.Junior middle school students basically recognize these traits and divide them into four different levels of demand based on student needs: necessary traits,desired traits,charm traits,and irrelevant traits.The needs of each level produce different degrees of recognition of students’ influences.Based on the research results,suggestions are made for the selection and training,quality improvement and professional development of junior middle school class teachers.
