With the rapid development of science and technology in today’s world,the competition for comprehensive national strength is becoming increasingly fierce.The improvement of a country’s comprehensive national strength is inseparable from the development of education and the cultivation of talents.In order to cultivate comprehensive innovative talents that meet the needs of the development of the times,it is necessary to integrate advanced educational concepts into the process of talent cultivation.Physics,as a very important part of basic disciplines,plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating students’ comprehensive literacy.However,at present,there are some problems in physics teaching,such as students feel that physics is difficult to learn,their interest in learning is not high,their practical ability is lacking,and students’ knowledge and practice are disconnected,which affects the effectiveness of physics teaching to a certain extent.STEAM education is an interdisciplinary education that includes science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.It is interdisciplinary,situational,and collaborative.It focuses on the connection between learning and practice,and the ability to solve practical problems through the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge.Pay attention to the practice and experience of the process,help to stimulate students’ interest in learning,play an active role in cultivating students’ innovative ability,and can effectively improve students’ problem-solving ability.Based on the STEAM education concept and combined with the characteristics of physics,this paper explores the feasibility of integrating the STEAM education concept into junior high school physics teaching,designs teaching cases and practices,and provides new teaching ideas for stimulating students’ interest in learning and improving the effectiveness of junior high school physics teaching.This article is divided into six parts:The first part introduces the development process of STEAM education,sorts out the research status of STEAM education at home and abroad,and determines the research methods and research significance based on the problems encountered in the current junior high school physics teaching.The second part expounds the connotation and theoretical basis of the STEAM education concept.The third part analyzes the feasibility of applying the STEAM education concept to junior high school physics teaching from the aspects of curriculum standards,physics textbooks,policy trends,and learning conditions.The results show that the STEAM education concept conforms to the curriculum standards,the arrangement of teaching content,and the current educational development.requirements to help improve the effectiveness of physics learning.The fourth part is teaching design.Starting from the ADDIE model,this paper summarizes the general teaching design ideas based on the STEAM concept,and designs the teaching mode and teaching process that integrates the STEAM concept.The fifth part,teaching implementation cases and educational measurement.Design four teaching cases that incorporate STEAM education concepts.Carrying out teaching practice,selecting experimental classes and control classes,educational measurement and statistics on the changes of students’ physical objective scores in mid-term and final exams,making questionnaires about the level of interest and creativity in physics learning,and using SPSS software to process the collected data and analyze it.Analyzed and tested the implementation effect of STEAM concept integrated into physics teaching.In the sixth part,through research and teaching based on the STEAM concept,students’ physics academic performance has improved,their learning interest has been improved,and their creativity has been improved.According to the research process,some teaching inspirations for integrating STEAM concepts into physics teaching and the prospect of future STEAM education development are put forward.
