The transnational migration of population is becoming more and more frequent worldwide,and the social adaptation of immigrant children has become a topic worthy of more and more attention.Guangzhou is an important foreign trade port in China,as well as an important window for Sino-African trade.As Africans come to live and work in Guangzhou,their school-age children migrate to China with their parents.When African children cross borders and come to China,they are bound to face a process of adapting to an unfamiliar environment,and the problem of social adaptation arises accordingly.Taking African children in Guangzhou as the research object,this paper investigates the social adaptation status of 32 African children in Guangzhou Xiaobei Foreign community by using questionnaire survey and in-depth interview method.First of all,a descriptive analysis of the social adaptation of African children in Guangzhou was carried out from four dimensions: language adaptation,interpersonal adaptation,cultural adaptation and community adaptation.The results showed that the Chinese proficiency of "listening" and "speaking" was good,but "reading" and "writing" was poor.Frequent interaction with co-ethnic groups but little interaction with the local population;The understanding of Chinese culture is fragmented and one-sided,adapting to the shallow level,and it is difficult to identify deeply;Parallel disjoint neighborhood;Unfamiliar with the community.Secondly,the author analyzed the causes of the social adjustment difficulties of children in Guangzhou,and further found that the lack of ways to learn Chinese,the single social network,and the lack of effective ways to integrate into the local community are the main factors causing the social adjustment difficulties.Based on this,the author took the community education project for foreign children carried out by KX as an example,adopted participatory observation method,in-depth interview method and other research methods to analyze the service content,current situation,operation mode,impact and existing problems in promoting the social adaptation of foreign children from the perspective of community education.Combined with the author's research on the social adaptation of African children in Guangzhou,the author plans practical practice and improvement measures,so as to provide reference and practical basis for improving their social adaptation and growth process.
