Generally speaking,propriety refers to an appropriate code of conduct and ceremony based on inner moral norms and exposed outside.In social life,etiquette is of great significance for cultivating talents with both morality and ability and maintaining social order.*** Among ancient Chinese thinkers,Confucius attached great importance to ritual,"ritual" is a key concept in Confucius' philosophical thought and educational thought system.Therefore,it is of great practical value for today's education policy and etiquette education system to explore Confucius' thought and significance of "etiquette".It is mainly reflected in improving the level of individual moral cultivation,maintaining social harmony,improving the degree of social contract,and enriching the content of etiquette education."Ceremony" is regarded by Confucius as the external representation of his core concept of "benevolence".Confucius' thought of "Rites" came from the ethical policy of the Western Zhou Dynasty.After the turbulent society of the Western Zhou Dynasty,Confucius was deeply aware of the importance of "Rites" for social stability.On the basis of inheriting Zhou rites,Confucius interpreted "Rites" as the following four meanings: rites are an external etiquette norm,rites are an institutional norm to maintain social stability,rites are a moral norm with "benevolence" as the core,and rites represent a norm of knowledge and social civilization.From the perspective of practice path,Confucius mainly put forward requirements from three aspects: the national level should implement the ritual system;At the social level,we should rely on blood relationship to establish a stable social order;At the individual level,we should cultivate gentlemen.In China's current social life,people still have some problems in etiquette,mainly manifested in the disharmony between individual behavior and moral norms and the development of social civilization,the imperfect etiquette culture education mechanism of society and students,and the traditional etiquette culture content is difficult to meet the needs of modern information education.The Enlightenment of Confucius' thought of "etiquette" to contemporary education lies in that the quality and specification of talents should be both internal and external,the value orientation should be changed,the educational policy should pay attention to the construction of a good educational atmosphere,and the school education should enrich the information etiquette education.
