In recent years, with the transformation of China's population structure, the problem of population aging has become increasingly prominent. How to make the elderly happy and enjoy their old age is an urgent problem to be solved in front of the government and every family.Compared with families and communities, pension institutions have more advantages in integrating social resources. With the change of family structure and economic and social development, the number of elderly people who choose to stay the elderly care institutions has increased significantly in recent years.Enhancing the social attention ofthe elderly care institutions and improving the subjective well-being of the elderly is also one of the important ways to actively deal with the challenge of aging. With the development of economy and society and the gradual improvement of the cultural level of the elderly, the elderly's demand for elderly care services has increased from the most basic material life care and medical care services to the enrichment of spiritual and cultural life. Therefore,in order to meet the needs of elderly care services in the new era,the elderly care institutions should change the service provision mode, meet the needs of the elderly and improve the subjective well-being of the elderly. The elderly in the elderly care institutions are prone to "powerlessness" and "powerlessness".Empowerment of the elderly is one of the important ways to enhance subjective well-being.The focus of this thesis is to focus on the elderly, based on the concept of active aging,to explore how to improve the subjective well-being of the elderly in the elderly care institutions from the perspective of empowerment. The service objects in this study have low self-efficacy and subjective well-being.By improving parent-child relationship and strengthening social support network, they can improve their confidence in facing problems and their ability to solve problems, and break through the constraints of service objects' access to resources through environmental improvement.Through case intervention, the right of self-determination of service objects was significantly improved.Measured by the scale, their personal self-efficacy was improved(9 points?20 points),and their subjective well-being was also significantly improved(9 points?36 points).By summarizing and reflecting on this case study,it is found that social work intervention from the perspective of empowerment can better promote the subjective well-being of the elderly in the elderly care institutions, which can be used as a reference for guiding the development of pension institutions, innovating service models and maintaining the mental health of the elderly in pension institutions. The mental health of the elderly in elderly care institutions needs to be concerned and valued by the social and academic circles, and the social workers in elderly care institutions can effectively help the elderly win more resource support because of their professionalism. This thesis attempts to combine the empowerment theory with the improvement of the subjective well-being of the elderly in pension institutions, and makes innovations from the research perspective: under the background of advocating active aging, the number of the elderly in pension institutions is accelerating at the current stage, and their well-being in their later years should be paid more attention. At present, the academic research in pension institutions is mainly based on the development of the industry and the provision of service models,There is relatively little research on the subjective well-being of the elderly in pension institutions. The intervention of social work cases from the perspective of empowerment can effectively improve the subjective well-being of the elderly in pension institutions.
