The whole book reading has recently attracted more and more attention from teachers,students and scholars.It has a great role in cultivating students' overall reading perception ability and improving students' basic Chinese skills.However,the current circumstances of the whole book reading is not optimistic.On the one hand,students are affected by "fragmented reading" and do not have the motivation and perseverance to persist in reading a masterpiece;on the other hand,teachers' teaching efficiency of the overall book reading is low.Taking "A Dream of Red Mansions" as an example,students usually stop reading through the first step,let alone experience the complex human feelings and clues intertwined with light and dark in "A Dream of Red Mansions".The teaching method of the whole book reading is usually carried out as a single article,which will ignore the overall content of "A Dream of Red Mansions" in the teaching process and affect the effect of the whole book reading.As a response,the author proposes to use mind map to assist teaching of the whole book reading,and design a teaching plan with "A Dream of Red Mansions" as an example.Mind mapping is a note-taking method proposed by Tony Bozan.It is effective in assisting reading when used as a reading tool.After combing the feasibility of mind maps,through the questionnaire and interview outline of the whole book reading and mind map for teachers and students in the first grade,the author analyzed the problem that teachers and students have,which is the low use of mind maps in the reading process of the whole book.The author combined with the advantages in intuitiveness and divergence of mind maps,designed the reading teaching program of "A Dream of the Red Mansions" with mind map as a tool,and specifically displayed some teaching contents,in order to help students create more reading discoveries and obtain more reading insights,besides,to provide teaching reference for teachers.The specific research content and its results are presented as follows: the first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the source of the selected topic,clarifies the purpose and significance of the research,sorts out the literature related to the research of the topic,clarifies the research methods and their ideas,which not only determines the basic framework of the research,but also summarizes the basic overview of the research.The second part sorts out the relevant concepts of reading the whole book,the reading teaching of the whole book in high school and the mind map,then discusses the feasibility of the mind map being applied to the reading teaching of the whole book in high school,laying the foundation for this research.The third part mainly investigates the current situation of the use of mind maps in teaching of the whole book reading in high schools,and analysts the problems that have in the process of using mind maps.The fourth part summarizes the optimization strategies from both students and teachers throgh the problems identified by the investigation and research.The fifth part takes "A Dream of Red Mansions" as an example,expounds the preparation work before teaching of the whole book reading,and takes the optimization strategy as a reference,uses the mind map as a reading tool,and uses "A Dream of Red Mansions" as the reading content to design a mind map applying to "A Dream of Red Mansions" as a case.This part also explains at large the concrete content of the introduction stage,the first part of the initial reading stage and the first part of the study stage.
