With the continuous advancement of basic education curriculum reform,project-based learning, which points to the in-depth understanding and transfer of knowledge, has become the focus in the era of literacy. In the newly revised high school curriculum standards, many subjects such as Chinese, information technology, and geography propose to use project-based learning; In practice,project-based learning has also entered more and more classrooms. However, traditional evaluation methods can not meet the evaluation needs of project-based learning.Performance assessment, which points to higher-order thinking and core literacy,is considered to be a suitable evaluation method for project-based learning. How to design performance assessment in project-based learning is a big challenge for teachers.Based on the existing literature, this study constructed an analysis framework of performance assessment design in project-based learning, and used the Delphi method, conducted two rounds of expert consultation to revise and improve the framework. The analysis framework consists of four dimensions: "performance objectives","performance tasks","rubric" and "feedback, reflection and revision",and 13 criteria, which embodies the following ideas: in project-based learning, performance assessment is embedded and integrated with it,based on the consistent structure of performance objectives, performance tasks and rubrics,a circular process of "feedback-reflection-revision" is formed to direct and promote student learning. Then, this study selected two projects of a primary school in Wenzhou,Zhejiang Province as cases, collected physical data and interview data, analyzed the design of performance assessment in the two projects according to the established framework, discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the performance assessment design in the two projects, and summarized the design suggestions of performance assessment design in project-based learning. It is found that the design of performance assessment in two projects has the following three advantages: Connecting life experience and interest to create authentic tasks;Students participate in assessment design to ensure that the task is appropriately challenging;Emphasis on conceptual reflection, visualize students’ thinking track. In addition, there are also the following two shortcomings: there is no specific scoring tool;Lack of opportunity to get feedback on cooperation performance during the project.Based on the case analysis, this study summarized the following four design suggestions:(1)pay attention to the authenticity of the assessment task in the sense of education;(2)Describe the specific performance level and give play to the guiding role of scoring tools;(3)Design diversified reflection tools and pay attention to continuous reflection on concepts;(4)Properly organize students to participate in assessment design.
