Data literacy is an important part of citizens' digital literacy,and cultivating students' data literacy is one of the important goals of information technology education in the current stage of compulsory education in our country.As a learning method that can provide students with real problem situations and promote students' active learning,project-based learning is the main teaching method in the teaching of information technology courses.However,how to effectively carry out project-based teaching in primary and secondary schools to promote students' data literacy and how to effectively evaluate students' data literacy are the key and difficult issues in data literacy education in primary and secondary schools.Based on this,by analyzing the existing literature on the connotation and training of data literacy,referring to the existing research results,and according to the current learning situation of junior high school students and the characteristics of psychological knowledge and cognitive development of middle school students,the study determined a competency framework for data literacy among junior high school students.Based on the data literacy connotation framework,a data literacy self-assessment scale for junior high school students was designed.Further oriented by data literacy training,projectbased learning as the teaching method,combined with the data problem solving cycle(The Data Problem Solving Cycle,PPDAC),a project-based learning teaching model for junior high school information technology courses for data literacy training is proposed.It clarifies each stage,based on the teaching content and learning situation,the project theme determination stage,the teaching goal determination stage,the teaching design stage and the teaching implementation stage,to help the development of teaching design and implementation.According to the teaching model,the case design is carried out,and the teaching practice is carried out in a middle school in Shanghai.Taking the sixth-grade students in the preparatory class of junior high school as the research object,the effect of the teaching model is analyzed by comparing the data literacy data before and after the test and synthesizing the students' works and interview data.The data analysis results show that the project-based learning teaching model that integrates the data problem solving cycle proposed in this study can improve students' data literacy to a certain extent,especially data skills(P=0.001)and data ethics and norms(P=0.044)The pre-and post-test scores of the two dimensions improved significantly.Through further interviews,it is found that the proposed teaching model can effectively improve students' learning participation and interest in learning.
