Freshmen residents face a new and unfamiliar environment, not only the transition from elementary school to secondary school, but also the new requirement of quickly adapting to school life. Therefore, based on the school adjustment status and service needs of first-year resident students, group work interventions in four areas: academic adjustment, peer relationships,teacher-student relationships and daily life are of practical significance to accelerate the school adjustment of first-year resident students. This study was conducted with first-year resident students in Middle School A.Data were collected through questionnaire, interview and observation methods. On the basis of the research on school adjustment,we used group dynamics as a guide to intervene in the whole process of school adjustment of junior high school students, summarize the effects of group work, and reflect on the process of group work.We found that group work interventions in school adjustment of first-year students have remarkable effectiveness, rich group activities promote the achievement of group goals, the flexible use of group dynamics theory plays a great role, the active use of the inner law of group development to promote the school adjustment of first-year students, group members in the group to improve themselves gradually to achieve personal goals, this effectiveness relies on group dynamics benign This effectiveness relies on the virtuous role of group dynamics as a driver. We also suggest how to promote school adjustment of first-year students in order to provide experience and reference for future research.
