In the "Biology Curriculum Standards for General High Schools" promulgated by the Ministry of Education in 2017,the cultivation of students' core competencies in biology is the purpose.The core competencies of biology is a comprehensive reflection of students' scientific attitude,scientific method and biological knowledge.Modeling and modeling are one of the scientific thinking methods that the curriculum standards require students to cultivate.How can teachers effectively cultivate this quality to students?This study firstly defines the concepts of model and model construction,sorts out the classification of models in biology courses,and clarifies the theoretical basis of model teaching.On this basis,a questionnaire on model construction was designed for students in three grades of high school to understand the current situation of students in different grades in model construction,and through interviewing with teachers of the first grade to learn how to cultivate students' modeling ability.The survey found that modeling teaching is less common in biology classroom teaching.The modeling ability of students in the third grade of senior high school is hierarchical,and the comprehensive modeling ability of senior third grade students is the highest,and the model construction ability of senior first grade students needs to be improved.In the view of this,this study adopts the method of modeling teaching to cultivate students' modeling and modeling ability,mainly including clarifying the general steps of physical model,mathematical model and conceptual model construction in high school biology.The model construction teaching resources in the high school biology "Molecules and Cells" were sorted out.On this basis,the teaching plan was designed,the teaching practice was carried out,and the problems that need to be paid attention to in the modeling teaching were summarized through teaching reflection.The effect of modeling teaching was fed back in the form of questionnaire surveys,and the actual effect of modeling teaching was analyzed.The research shows that modeling instruction can enhance students' interest in biology and promote students' awareness of active learning.Modeling and modeling activities can break through the difficulties in teaching,deepen students' understanding of life phenomena and life activities,and promote the cultivation of students' core biology competencies.According to the teaching practice,three suggestions are put forward for the development of modeling teaching:(1)Strengthen the learning of modeling teaching and improve the ability of modeling teaching.(2)Pay attention to the use of modeling teaching,and avoid model construction for the sake of model construction.(3)Pay attention to both the evaluation of modeling results and the evaluation of the modeling process.
