As an important scientific method,the model method has received more and more attention in the new curriculum reform.Understanding prototypes by constructing models is an important means of understanding the world and developing scientific thinking.Model teaching is an inquiry-based teaching.In the process of biology teaching,combining teaching with the model can cultivate students'various thinking abilities and improve students' biological science literacy.However,at present,the proportion of model teaching is small in the teaching of middle school biology,and the students do not know enough about the biological model.In terms of elective materials,the model teaching is less.Therefore,the author proposes to use model teaching in the high school biology elective three teaching to cultivate students'problem-solving ability and learning subjectivity.The author selected six classes and eight classes of a middle school in Bazhou,Korla,Xingjiang as the research object.Questionnaires show that the school does not pay much attention to model teaching,which leads to fewer opportunities for students to construct models in daily learning,but students' interest in model teaching is very strong,and they hope to participate in model construction.The author has screened and sorted out the model content in Elective 3 "Modern Biotechnology Special Topics",and compiled 42 models,including 25 physical models,10 conceptual models,and 7 mathematical models.The classroom model teaching design was carried out,and two model teaching cases were designed for each of the three models.In order to enrich the model teaching,the extracurricular practice activities of model teaching were further designed to improve students' problem solving ability and learning subjectivity.Through the one-semester model teaching,through the qualitative and quantitative methods of statistical research such as questionnaires and tests,the paper analyzes and discusses the three aspects of student problem-solving ability,learning subjectivity and academic achievement.The results show that the experimental class students are There was a significant improvement in problem-solving ability and academic performance,but the improvement in learning subjectivity was not obvious.The main conclusions of this paper.(1)Model teaching can significantly improve students' problem-solving skills;(2)Model teaching can improve students' academic performance;(3)Model teaching to improve students' learning subjectivity is not obvious.The three-model teaching and the extracurricular practice design of model teaching in this study are operable.Through the reasonable implementation of model teaching,students can further study and develop.At the same time,the three models in the textbook of "Modern Biotechnology Special Topics" were selected and compiled to provide reference for the research and practice of model teaching.
