While China's digital economy is shifting to a new stage,the Internet penetration rate of the elderly population is severely lacking and many of them are facing the digital divide dilemma.In recent years,the digital divide has increased the isolation of the elderly from the rest of the society in the context of the increasing number of the elderly who lost their only children and the normalization of the COVID-19 in China.This study takes the example of the J project of M social work agency purchased by the Bureau of Civil Affairs,and uses a group work intervention for the elderly who lost their only children in the project's coverage area to help the elderly learn to use smart devices,using the strength perspective,the discover the strengths that exist in themselves and their surroundings,and improve their ability to solve the digital divide dilemma.The main content of this paper consists of three parts: the introductory part is the first chapter,which firstly explains the background,purpose and significance of the study,followed by a review of the current status of the academic research and a review,a definition and explanation of the relevant concepts and research methods,and finally points out the important theoretical and practical significance of this study.The main part includes the second chapter,the third chapter and the fourth chapter,which introduce the overview of Project J,the digital divide dilemma of the elderly who lost their only children,the implementation process of group work intervention in the digital divide dilemma of the elderly who lost their only children,the evaluation of the effectiveness,the advantages,shortcomings and improvement strategies of the intervention,respectively.The conclusion section is the fifth chapter,which summarizes the study,shares the experience,and provides reflection and outlook.It is found that group work interventions have positive significance for solving the digital divide dilemma of the elderly who lost their only children,but more policy support from the government and more attention from the society are needed while the services are carried out.
