With the rapid development of the Internet and the Internet of Things, society is now truly a "global village" and our lives are closely linked to society and our country. When the international situation changes,so does our daily life, and how to find a foothold in this changing society is a major issue for students today. With the impact of COVID-19,the workplace is changing and many people are moving from offline to online work, keeping up to date with new things and knowledge in order to adapt to the changes in the environment. At the same time,it is a huge challenge to the traditional teaching situation to be able to develop students' independent learning skills and develop the habit of lifelong learning to progress through the changing forms. This paper takes the teaching design of Growing Project/Problem Based Learning(GPBL)as a theoretical guide, draws a theoretical model with the help of its teaching practice, and explores the characteristics and influencing factors of students' self-directed learning under this teaching mode. This study takes students majoring in Educational Technology at X University as the research object.Through the study and sorting out the conceptual definition and theoretical basis, research models, assessment methods and assessment tools of independent learning at home and abroad;the empirical research in the form of questionnaire survey method is adopted to carry out an in-depth investigation on the influencing factors of university students, and at the same time, specific analysis is carried out on university students of different genders and grades, and relevant suggestions and improvement measures are given based on the research results to provide reference opinions for university teachers' teaching in order to improve the independent learning ability of university students. This study investigates the extent to which students' self-directed learning is influenced by both intrinsic factors(self-efficacy,innovation,peer belonging,problem-solving skills, migration)and external factors(peer belonging, learning assessment).(1)Overall,students' self-efficacy,peer belonging,problem-solving skills, transfer, and learning assessment all have a positive impact on college students' self-directed learning, and increased self-directed learning skills also promote the development of innovation skills.(2)Regarding students of different genders, male students' self-directed learning was most significantly influenced by self-efficacy,transfer,and learning evaluation;female students' self-directed learning was more significantly influenced by innovation, peer belonging, and transfer.(3)In terms of different grades, innovation had a more significant impact on college students' independent learning among grade 18 students than grade 17 and 16students;for grade 17 students, the peer belonging dimension had a more significant impact on independent learning;and for grade 16 students, the impact on independent learning was more significant in two aspects: peer belonging and migration.
