A Study On The Loneliness Of The Elderly In The Nursing Home With Group Work

In recent years,China’s aging problem has become increasingly serious,and China’s new population has not been a large-scale surge,which means that our country’s pension burden will increase in the future.In this study,60 elderly people from the x nursing home in Yuelu District,Changsha,were selected by random sampling and investigated with the emotional-social loneliness scale,combined with semi-structured interview,23 members had free and in-depth conversation to understand the living conditions and loneliness of the elderly in the nursing home.At the later stage,according to the voluntary principle of the case-owner,six elderly people who had a high score of more than 11 on the emotional-social loneliness scale were selected as the subjects for the interview,and formed a “Joy and joy,Lotus”group,through the development of six group activities to ease the loneliness of elderly homes,to help group members more actively integrate into the group activities,to establish a correct understanding,to grasp a positive and optimistic attitude.After the group activities,we used the ESLI scale to measure the loneliness of the group members,and found that the loneliness score of the group members decreased significantly,and all the group members kept below 8 points,the loneliness of the old people in the nursing home was alleviated obviously.At the same time,the author hopes that the research on this topic can accumulate materials for the future research on the loneliness of the elderly in the homes for the aged,and can also cause the social workers to reflect on the loneliness of the elderly.
