The education practice course is an effective way to cultivate the practical teaching quality of teachers.It is also the professional development appeal of teachers.In this paper,the education practice course for pre-service teachers conducted in Singapore National Institute of Education was taken as the object to carry out systematic study.The National Institute of Education is the only pre-service teacher education institute recognized by the Singapore Ministry of Education.It has experienced three stages of development from the Teachers' Training College(1950-1972),the Institute of Education(1973-1990),to the National Institute of Education(1991 to now).The education practice course is the core course of its pre-service teacher education and training program.Currently,the education practice course of the National Institute of Education aims to cultivate the teachers with independent thinking.It takes the value cultivating of pre-service teachers as its core task,and formulates“teacher graduation capability framework” according to the expectations on teachers.This course is designed based on the Constructivist Theory and the Reflective Practice Theory,containing internship and practice activities represented by "School Experience","Teaching Assistantship","Teaching Practice" and "International Practice",etc.Meanwhile the course,which is well organized in successive steps and integrated with theoretical contents,is composed of three stages.The three stages are set with clear tasks,designed to cooperate with each other,and take reflective as the core,to promote the practice knowledge and capability development of pre-service teachers.In order to ensure the smooth implementation of the course,the Ministry of Education,the National Institute of Education,and the cooperative schools have established "enhanced partnership" as the management agency,setting up the course management system,and conducting teacher management by guiding the teacher responsibility classification and training.The education practice course and its management of Singapore National Institute of Education is featured in "Systematic Integration","Reflective Perspective","Concerns on Growth",and "Cooperation and Symbiosis",which is quite conductive to the reform of education practice course in China.To sum up,we shall deepen the concept transformation of educational practice courses,and set proper goals for educational practice course;expand course contents,optimize course structure,and build up curriculum evaluation system specially focusing on growth;credit win-win cooperative partnership;and pay more attention to the construction of instructing teacher team and improve the curriculum management system.
