A Study On Social Work Service Of Female Breast Cancer Patients From The Perspective Of Feminism

There are approximately 1.38 million new cases of breast cancer and approximately 458,000 deaths each year in the world according to data released by the World Health Organization.Breast cancer is considered the most serious disease among women in China.and more than 300,000 women suffer from breast cancer every year.The patients not only endure physical pain caused by the treatment of the disease,and also fall into severe depression and fear because of changes in appearance,concerns about poor prognosis and uncomfortable reactions during radiotherapy and chemotherapy.In addition,due to their gender differences in social roles,women with breast cancer will also face a heavy financial burden of the family,marital tension,next generation parenting issues.These problems affect the physical and mental health of female patients and the recovery of social function to varying degrees.The author analyze the problems faced by patients from the individual level,family level,and social level through a research survey of 91 female breast cancer patients during the internship at X hospital.It is found that the patients have requests in promoting the development of physical and mental health,strengthing communication,promoting changes in self-perception and self-realization,and restoring social function.The author uses the dominance perspective theory and empowerment theory based on a feminist perspective,and combines with the concept of gender equality in social rights in working.The author pay attention to discovering and awakening women's self-awareness,changing their unreasonable cognition,and assisting them to tap their own advantages and abilities,so as to enhance the confidence of female patients and promote the healthy development of women by using two methods of case work and group work.There are a few suggestions forwarded: It should be guided to pay attention to women's health,integrate multiple resources,promote women's autonomy,make full use of advantageous perspectives,pay attention to the training of medical social workers.
