Carrying out extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school effectively based on biology textbooks and daily classroom teaching is a powerful supplement and extension of daily classroom teaching.It can help students understand the important and difficult points in teaching in different forms and different point of views,enable students to "learn by doing" and enhance their initiative in learning biology.At the same time,various types of extracurricular activities are beneficial to the improvement of students' key abilities such as hands-on practical ability,communication and cooperation ability,language expression ability,the formation of students' concept of life,the cultivation of scientific thinking,the courage of scientific inquiry and the enhancement of students' sense of social responsibility.This study was based on the development of extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school,used the literature research method to sort out the present situation of extracurricular activities research at home and abroad,and defined the concept of extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school in combination with relevant literature.The author designed scientifically questionnaires for teachers and students from different dimensions.A questionnaire survey was conducted among biology teachers and some grade 10 students in three ordinary high schools in Luzhou District,Changzhi City.According to the results of the teachers' questionnaire,teachers had few in-depth research on extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school.However,some teachers who had carried out extracurricular activities pointed out that the current extracurricular activities were small in scale and single in form,and extracurricular activities were not standardized and the evaluation mechanism was not perfect.And the enrollment pressure and teaching hours greatly hindered teachers from carrying out extracurricular activities.According to the results of the students' questionnaire,73.14%of the students liked biology courses.But it was generally considered to be difficult.83.39% of the students basically don't know extracurricular activities,and they had few opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities.87.63% of the students expected extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school to be carried out,and they were more inclined to observe the forms with strong hands-on ability,such as visiting,model making and simulation performance.According to the survey results and conclusions,the author designed four types of extracurricular activities cases,including situational performance,model making,interview and discussion,and topic inquiry,combined with the actual situation of the schools and students she taught,and made practical research on some cases,and put forward suggestions for improvement through practical reflection.On the basis of investigation conclusion and practical research,the author put forward the strategy of developing extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school from the two levels of school and teachers.Based on the school level,it is necessary to scientifically plan and establish a team of tutors for extracurricular activities;this team of tutors need to research and develop school-based biology textbooks for senior high schools according to the needs of schools;it is necessary to create conditions and pay attention to family-school-society exchanges and cooperation;it is necessary to improve the system and promote the sustained and efficient development of extracurricular activities.Based on the teacher level,we should rely on teaching materials to provide suitable topics;innovate the form and enrich the content of extracurricular activities;it is necessary to define the goal and scientifically formulate extracurricular activities plan;we should give timely feedback and do a good job in the evaluation and reflection of extracurricular activities.This study attempts to study the present situation,application and strategies of extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school,in order to arouse the attention of local ordinary senior high schools and front-line teachers to pay attention to extracurricular activities of senior high school biology,and at the same time we put forward feasible development strategies to ensure that the practice concept can be fully implemented in the teaching process,so as to promote quality education.It also provides a reference case for front-line teachers,especially schools and teachers with relatively backward teaching facilities,to carry out effectively extracurricular activities of biology in senior high school.
