As the beginning stage of national education system,preschool education bears important significance.The training of high-quality kindergarten teachers is the basis for the formation of high-quality preschool education.Under the current environment,the training of kindergarten teachers is mainly offered by the preschool education degree program set by normal universities,whose curriculum will straightforwardly determine the training quality of preschool education-major students.In other words,the quality of the curriculum determines the quality of education.Therefore,efforts must be taken to the improvement of the quality of preschool education courses if we want to improve that of the whole preschool education.The current study first reviewed the existing literatures of preschool education both at home and abroad,which resulted in a clear definition of the concepts of "curriculum" and "curriculum setting" for the current study.Secondly,the training objectives and curriculum settings of the eight selected normal universities were analyzed using Interview method,the text analysis method and the topsis analysis method.Through the analysis,it was found that the training objectives of normal universities in China are quite similar,but the emphasis on developing specific literatcies vary;the curriculum structure is not the same,and the credit ratio is obviously different;the main curriculum modules are identical with minor differences;the course content shows rich diversity.Thirdly,problems in the training objectives and curriculum settings of the eight normal universities were summarized: training target is rather vague and unclear;the proportion is relatively unbalanced;curriculum content is overlap and lack of curriculum content.Finally,based on the research results and relevant policy texts,this study puts forward the basic conception of curriculum setting of preschool education in normal colleges and universities.Moreover,according to the basic conception and existing problems,specific optimization measures were proposed: setting up the correct frontier education concept;clarifying reasonable orientation of training objectives;optimizing the curriculum structure;selecting the curriculum content scientifically.
