In recent years, the tourism industry has developed rapidly in various regions of the country. While bringing considerable tourism revenue, the carbon emissions it produces are also increasing day by day.Although the Yangtze River Economic Belt only involves 11 provinces and cities, its tourism revenue can reach half of the whole country. If the tourism industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt cannot achieve low-carbon development, the environmental problems caused by carbon emissions will seriously affect the economic and social development. Therefore, how to reduce the carbon emissions of tourism while ensuring the growth of tourism economy has become an important topic to be studied urgently. After sorting out the boundaries of the concept of tourism carbon emissions, this paper uses the carbon emission intensity of tourism and the decoupling index of tourism carbon emissions as the basis to study the relationship between tourism economic development and carbon emissions in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the influencing factors of carbon emissions. It has certain guiding significance to improve the carbon emission reduction policy of regional tourism and accelerate the low-carbon development of tourism.First, this paper comprehensively sorts out the current research status of tourism carbon emission measurement and decoupling models at home and abroad. On the basis of scientifically defining the concept of tourism carbon emissions, the sustainable development theory, low carbon economy theory and decoupling theory are expounded, and the research methods used in this paper are introduced, which provides a strong theoretical support for empirical research.Secondly, based on the "top-down" method, the carbon emissions of tourism in the provinces of the Yangtze River Economic Belt are measured, and the carbon emission intensity of tourism in each province over the years is calculated.regional differences. In order to further study the relationship between tourism income and carbon emissions, this paper calculates the decoupling index of tourism carbon emissions in the provinces of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and combines the ESDA analysis method to study its spatial correlation. Finally, using the LMDI decomposition method, the factors affecting the carbon emissions of tourism in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are decomposed into five parts: consumption level during tourism, tourist scale, energy intensity, tourism transportation intensity and tourism industry contribution. The middle and lower reaches of the three regions respectively explore the impact of each influencing factor on the carbon emissions of tourismThe research results show that:(1)The tourism revenue and tourism carbon emissions of the provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are in a state of common growth most of the time;(2)The types of decoupling of tourism carbon emissions in the provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are weak decoupling.Mainly, the decoupling index has a significant positive spatial correlation;(3)The main factors causing the increase of carbon emissions from tourism in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are energy intensity and tourist scale.According to the above results, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt respectively, which can provide a certain reference for the realization of the low-carbon development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
