Keruyi Huangchuan Gongmian Noodles is a local specialty in Huangchuan County,Henan Province.In the fiercely competitive regional product market,its packaging design faces challenges such as aesthetic backwardness and lack of regional characteristics.Nowadays,packaging design is gradually shifting from a focus on functionality to highlighting emotional experiences.Research based on the theory of emotional design has mainly been applied in the field of industrial design.With the advent of the experience economy,research on the application of emotional design theory in product packaging design has become increasingly mature.As a local specialty,the Keruyi brand should be rooted in the culture of the specialty and explore consumers’ emotional needs based on the study of emotional design theory to enhance the value of Keruyi Huangchuan Gongmian Noodles packaging.This study combines theoretical research with design practice and conducts a comprehensive analysis of the feasibility of applying emotional design in the packaging of Keruyi Huangchuan Gongmian Noodles,based on Norman’s emotional design theory.Firstly,it systematically analyzes the emotional factors in specialty packaging design and customers’ emotional experiential needs,taking into account the psychological characteristics of consumers purchasing local specialties.Secondly,it deeply analyzes the development status of the Keruyi brand,packaging status,and customer status based on the analysis of excellent specialty packaging designs both domestically and internationally,aiming to gain insights into consumers’ emotional needs and clarify the necessity of applying emotional concepts in specialty packaging design.Finally,it explores the principles and pathways of emotional design for Keruyi Huangchuan Gongmian Noodles packaging from the perspectives of instinct,behavior,and reflection,providing effective guidance for practical packaging design.In this research,based on the contemporary context of local specialties,the association analysis is conducted from both the brand and user perspectives.By transforming abstract emotions into visual,interactive,and memorable symbols,the application of emotional design in Keruyi Huangchuan Gongmian Noodles packaging is studied and practiced,providing insights for the development and innovation of local specialty packaging design.
