Research On Urban Living Street Renewal Based On Landscape Narrative Theory

From the "fourteenth five year plan" issued by the State Council,which proposed to deepen the transformation of urban renewal,to the notice on preventing large-scale demolition and construction in the implementation of urban renewal issued by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development in 2022,it can be said that the city has entered the era of stock development,and urban renewal has entered the refinement stage.Therefore,street renewal that pays attention to mass culture and life has become an important part of refined urban renewal.The living street is a space closely related to people’s daily life,but it gradually loses its spatial characteristics and regional characteristics in the standardized and formalized urban design,and the residents’ sense of identity and belonging to the street is declining day by day.Therefore,under this background,it is urgent to explore and establish a discourse system of living street space expression that continues the street’s historical and cultural genes,daily life atmosphere and carries the group’s emotional memory.Landscape narrative,as a classical method of creating places,is widely used in the field of urban public space landscape design.By establishing a dialogue bridge between the subject and object of narrative,the humanity and readability of landscape places can be improved.This paper creatively involves the landscape narrative theory in the renewal design of the living street,and establishes a complete narrative theory system and design procedure of the living street with the main center and the compound space-time environment.The narrative design process is transformed from the traditional designer’s strong intervention and setting mode theme from top to bottom to the process of street public’s free and flexible choice and joint participation in creating narrative scenes.The landscape narrative theory is placed in the living street space to realize the transformation of "Folk Narrative",and the renewal design of living streets realizes the multiple construction of time perception,space optimization,humanistic connotation and environmental significance with the help of landscape narrative.The research contents include:The basic theory part:it summarizes the four connotations of the landscape narrative theory in terms of time,space,subjectivity and integrity,and finds out the coupling relationship between the two in combination with the interpretation of the key points of the renewal design of living streets,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the next research direction and content.Research part:select three representative living streets to collect and analyze information from four aspects:environmental characteristics,time research,spatial status and subject investigation,and summarize the problems and contradictions that hinder the narrative construction of living streets,so as to provide a realistic source and basis for theoretical exploration.The part of theory construction:Based on the basic theoretical research and research conclusions,explore the four dimensions of the narrative content of the life street,including time dimension,space dimension,subject dimension and environment dimension,and discuss the internal logical relationship between each dimension.Based on this internal relationship,a complete three-level and four-dimensional theoretical framework system of narrative renewal design of living streets is established.Method part:according to the theoretical framework system of three levels and four dimensions,the renewal design procedure of living streets centered on public participation is constructed.The procedure includes ten links.The street public,as the leader and actor of the street narrative update,is deeply involved in the whole process.To realize the street narrative update,not only transform the physical space,but also reshape the social relationship network of the street public in the process of creating the street narrative scene,so as to realize the transformation from street update to street creation.Empirical part:follow the renewal design procedure of living streets under the landscape narrative,carry out the renewal design practice of Chongning road street in Liangxi District,Wuxi City,and verify the rationality and practicality of the theory and method procedure.The research on the renewal design of urban living streets under the landscape narrative in this paper will provide new theoretical support and method reference for the future street design practice.
