| New product development is not only an important means for enterprises to obtain sustainable competitive advantage,but also a large complex project directly related to the survival and long-term development of enterprises.In recent years,with China’s efforts to promote energy conservation and emission reduction and the advent of 5G era,higher requirements have been raised for the development speed and performance iteration of precision air-conditioning products.The pace of product iteration affects whether or not an enterprise can remain invincible in the new cycle of competition,and it is critical to the core competitiveness of the enterprise.The efficiency of product development process has become a key factor in improving the core competitiveness of enterprises.As the leader in this industry,VD company is also facing the challenges of shortening the development cycle of new products,reducing the development cost and improving the development quality in today’s fiercely competitive business environment.VD can face these challenges and maintain its core competitiveness only by improving and optimizing the entire development process of standardized products,building a development process suitable for customized products,improving development efficiency,shortening development cycle and reducing development costs.How to optimize the product development process,reduce development cost and improve development quality has become an urgent problem for VD company to solve.The purpose of this paper is to create an efficient new product development process to improve development efficiency,shorten development cycle and reduce development cost.Firstly,on the basis of reviewing relevant literature at home and abroad,based on the theory of Integrated Product Development(IPD),this paper analyzes VD company’s current product development process,finds the problems in its development process for standardized and customized products,and explores the causes to these problems.Secondly,based on the theories and methods of Concurrent Engineering and process optimization,methods are proposed on the improvement of standardized product development process as well as on the design of customized new product development process.Finally,in order to ensure the implementation of these methods,measures are put forward from the aspects of organizational support and resource platform support,covering aspects including "top leader" projects,organizational structure adjustment,technology platform establishment as well as human resource and resource matching.By estimating the effect of the optimized process on development cycle and development cost,the process proposed in this paper can effectively meet the needs of product development.The shortcomings of this paper are also pointed out:there is a lack of comparison with the product development process of other companies in the same industry.The proposed process will be verified in the cycle of product iteration.This paper holds the view that:firstly,by merging the six stages of IPD process into four stages,the development cycle of VD standardized precision air-conditioning products can be shortened,the development cost can be reduced,and the development quality can be improved;secondly,the addition of a post-delivery evaluation process for customized products can largely help discover the future trends in the market. |
