With the changes in the international and domestic market environment,the problems faced by small and medium-sized enterprises,such as rising production costs and difficult and expensive financing,have become increasingly prominent,causing enterprises to pay great attention to them.With the rapid development of the economy and medical level,the number of medical enterprises in China is rapidly increasing,and the number of medical equipment manufacturing enterprises is also rapidly increasing,each enterprise has the same production technology,the industry tends to be saturated,the profit margin is gradually becoming smaller,and enterprises urgently need to reduce costs to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.is also facing the above problems.In this paper,HJ’s current production and inventory management problems are taken as the object of study,and the current situation of the company is combined with industrial engineering methods to diagnose and analyze its problems,and use inventory control methods combined with lean thinking to give its inventory optimization strategy,so as to achieve the purpose of reducing inventory and costs,improving production efficiency,and ultimately increasing the company’s profits.The main research contents of this paper are as follows.(1)Analyze the current situation of HJ’s parts warehouse and identify the problems in its inventory management and control.Through field research and interviews,we analyze the current situation of the company,the inventory quantity of the parts warehouse and the inventory turnover rate of each raw material,and use industrial engineering related analysis methods to clarify the current problems of the parts warehouse with the actual demands of the company.(2)Based on the company’s historical sales data,the demand for its main finished products was forecasted.Three different forecasting methods,namely moving average,exponential smoothing and time series seasonal cycle forecasting,were used to forecast the sales volume of HJ’s main products,displays and UI parts.The seasonal cycle forecasting method was selected as the forecasting method to forecast HJ’s demand for both types of finished goods in 2021.(3)Optimization of the ordering strategy of HJ’s parts warehouse.The ABC classification method and the key factor analysis method were used to analyze the 55 categories of materials in the parts warehouse,and the materials were divided into four categories: A,B,C and D.The corresponding inventory and ordering strategies were set for each category of materials based on the characteristics of the classification results and the demand forecast information of the main finished products,and the safety stock quantity was set for each category of materials.(4)Research on the improvement of inventory management of HJ’s parts warehouse.Combined with the classification results and customs regulations,we proposed to improve the storage layout of the parts warehouse,added a new standard parts warehouse in the production line,and proposed a daily management improvement plan for the company,including inventory management and handling and safety management.By analyzing the current inventory situation and management needs of HJ Company,this study optimizes the inventory control and management system of HJ Company.The demand forecasting method proposed in this paper will provide guidance for HJ’s future production planning;the developed parts warehouse inventory strategy and ordering strategy can reduce inventory quantity,capital and personnel costs in the storage and inventory process;the designed layout improvement plan can reduce inventory space;and the proposed daily management suggestions can improve work efficiency while safeguarding employees’ personal safety.Incorporating Lean thinking into HJ’s inventory control and management system will enable continuous improvement of the parts warehouse,develop Lean awareness among employees,and raise the management standards of the company.The solutions and strategies developed in this study will provide some reference for other small and medium-sized medical device manufacturing companies in inventory management and control.
