Railway freight transportation bears the heavy responsibility of long-distance transportation of bulk goods,as well as the logistics transportation required for social and economic development.It is an important component of China’s logistics system.At present,the freight facilities,assets,and functions of G Railway Company have not been fully integrated,with unreasonable resource allocation,low centralization,and low resource utilization.Some freight station resources are idle or overloaded,seriously affecting its freight efficiency.This article uses a research approach that combines systematic analysis and macro micro analysis to study the implementation of railway freight station strategy.Therefore,how to fully utilize these high-quality and efficient logistics capabilities,reorganize the classification restrictions of freight stations,and reconstruct the functions of freight stations,has important practical significance for improving the organizational efficiency of rail freight transportation.The research significance of this article is to discuss the competitive strategy under the conditions of railway marketization,hoping to provide valuable information for the competitive strategy of railway goods and the development of freight transportation.This article is based on rich survey data and applies competitive strategy theory to conduct in-depth research on the competitive strategy selection and implementation guarantee of G Railway Company in the market environment.(1)By systematically analyzing the market environment and internal business situation of G Railway Company’s freight transportation.This article believes that the freight business of G Railway Company has good development opportunities,especially the adjustment of national transportation structure and the implementation of the "public to rail" strategy,which has created a good external environment for the development of railway freight.However,due to its outdated management mechanism,weak market subjectivity,and strong competitive pressure brought about by highways,G Railway Company’s freight transportation still faces many difficulties,mainly manifested in:lagging management system,single products,poor service quality,and high operating costs.(2)By conducting SWOT analysis and strategic positioning research on G Railway Company.This article believes that the freight transportation of G railway should adopt a cost leading strategy.To establish an efficient and large-scale comprehensive management system,we should make full use of economies of scale and economies of scope,reduce logistics costs throughout the process,and ensure that the total costs are lower than those of competitors.By analyzing the cost composition of G Railway Company,it is pointed out that intensive operation of stations is the key to reducing freight costs.(3)The idea and plan for the intensive operation of G Railway Company’s freight yards and stations have been proposed as a guarantee measure for the implementation of the strategy.Firstly,the overall idea of intensive operation and outsourcing of stations was proposed.By optimizing station resources,transportation capacity and volume were increased,transportation costs were reduced,and transportation efficiency was improved.Using the method of case studies,detailed comparative argumentation was conducted on the intensive operation and business outsourcing of the station.Research suggests that by integrating and optimizing existing freight station operations,the cost of empty vehicle transportation can be significantly reduced;By introducing strategic partners for joint operation,we can revitalize the resources of the freight yard and increase operational revenue.The research in this article can provide reference and inspiration for the development of G Railway Company’s freight business.
